"What are you hauling there son?" "ass"
Your loss, hoss. Our '16 Sienna hauls more ass than my Tundra. Don't knock it until you load 4 kids up in it and do work.

Maybe it belongs in the Unpopular Opinions thread, but I don't want a hybrid. I'd rather have the choice, but I understand that they're probably trying to reduce costs by reducing variations.

Oh I know I’m the one that wanted one but she said no. I’ve borrowed my brothers Honda odessey and found it to be easier hauling 6 people

Had a Sienna before this truck. Hands down the best hauler for young kids. We have 3 young ones, we removed the large seat from the middle row so it had a huge flat area in the middle. Perfect for a quick diaper change without unloading all the kids in the rain and into Target to use their restroom. The remote operated slider doors also made sure she could quickly get all kids into the car and buckle them all up safely with all the doors locked and simply walk up to the drivers seat. This is a HUGE plus in California where the homeless and drug users constantly fill our parking lots. Eventually the kids got older and the wife also grew out of it and wanted something cooler.

yeah, front arm rests are fixed in down position, second row seating fixed and can't be removed...rear looks like an odyssey. c'mon man! well, our kids are older now with one going to college this fall so we'll ride the 17 until it starts to break down or my wife decides she wants something else.

Siennas rock! I've always liked minivans and I've never even had kids. They're great road trip vehicles. I had a 2007 Sienna CE. Might have kept it if it had been an AWD, but even still, I wanted something with more towing capacity and after several minivans I thought it was time for a change (previously had a Tundra, went back to one). Had to get a wheelchair minivan for my mother, should have got a Sienna based wheelchair van instead of a Dodge Caravan based model. Oh well.

When I had my 2007 Sienna CE, I did the front brake upgrade to 2012 Sienna pads, rotors and callipers so I could put on the 2012 5 spoke 17" wheels. Also added OE fog lights with yellow LED bulbs, automatic headlights (all plug and play), Kenwood touchscreen radio with bluetooth, navigation and backup camera. Put limo tint on all of the rear windows. Paint color was Slate Metallic, just like my Tundra. That Sienna was a pretty cool van. If I ever get another van, it would be a Sienna SE and a Borla exhaust or Sienna LE AWD with the lift kit.

nice! our 06 is my wifes favorite over the current 17. the a/c blew in the 06 like we had the windows down, backseat was super comfy for her to lay down and a bunch of other stuff.

Yeah, sometimes the older models are better than the newer ones. I also found that the newer interiors had interiors that felt like they used hard cheap plastic, my 2007 Sienna CE felt more upscale. And the AC was definitely nice and cold. On the flipside, the newer ones come with lots of nice tech goodies that you could not get on the older ones. Also, I think in the newer ones, if you remove the center row seats there's exposed seat rails or brackets I think, but in the older models they're recessed or more hidden.

I guess there's not much you can do about that other than carry a spare tire in the interior, since the spare tire would have otherwise gone under the van where the AWD components go. We have a wheelchair conversion 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, there is a compact spare tire mounted upright in the rear passenger cargo area. Not sure where the factory mounting spot would have been, but due to the lowered floor, there's no way it could be mounted under the van. The spare tire in that location isn't too bad, doesn't take up too much space, and it's nice to have a real spare tire. I needed it once when the valve on one of the regular wheels broke. A run flat tire would not have helped in that case.

We have a '15 Sienna SE as the family wagon. It's really nice, but my wife misses the remote start and cooled seats from the GX460 we sold. I also had to do a water pump at 70k because the bearing got very noisy. Tough job, but did it in the garage in a day.

We had 01 and 05. Then started looking at newer Sienna XLE and SE models. I really like the look of the SE models but we ended up with a Sequoia.

we've had a 2nd gen and now 3rd gen awd limited trim. very solid platforms and we love them. the auto opening or doors, folding seat, removable mid row seats, etc etc is great. gen 4 goes from a NA v6 to I4 hybrids and the mid seats no longer can be removed. it's been great to remove the mid row, stow the rear seats then i have storage space that's similar to the tundra bed. even have used it for camping that way. me and my two daughters when they were young all slept in it.

will be hard for me to consider that 4 banger if we need another in the future. prob not. kids are teens now with one in college. good luck.

We’ve had Siennas since they came out and love them. Right now we have a gold 2014 XLE. Picture this... windows down and moonroof open, big old guy driving down the street smoking a cigar with a BeeGees CD blasting. Yeah that’s what I live with!!

We’re think of getting a new one but not sure we like the 4 gen.

s’ok though because my sweet ride is the Tundra.

We purchased our '12 FWD XLE with 40k on it a few years ago. 85k later it's still running strong although the outside is a little scratched up and the interior could use a power wash.

Mechanically it's been pretty reliable with the exception of the sunroof switch (covered under warranty) and the driver's side sliding door cable broke which was covered under a recall. I put PowerStop brakes and rotors on because they were the same price as OEM and a minivan looks ridiculous with slotted and cross-drilled rotors, lol.

The engine is strong and my one beef is that there is a ton of torque steer when you stomp on it. I'm thinking there would be a lot less in an AWD model.

It's a great family hauler that drives nice but I'm trying to talk wifey into trading it in for a Sequoia.

everytime I get in it I feel like I'm in a limo
I call it my wifes "mom-osine"

20 year old me used to say I'd never own or drive a minivan
40 year old me says its pretty sweet, hauls the whole fam, plus all our kit and has a nice smooth ride

Sienna owner here. Love the ride but hate the brakes. I have gone through 3 sets of rotors and pads. Its a 2014 AWD. They warp sooo fast and shudder when coming to a stop. Too small of a rotor for the size of the vehicle. Aside from that it has been great!!

2015 with 50k on it and zero issues. Mine is limo tinted all around including windshield (okay in my state ), and it is the ultimate logistical vehicle. It is like a CH-47 of vehicles. Like others said, auto doors and trunk, no swinging doors to destroy fingers like hot dogs, removable and foldable seats, toss a roof rack and storage on top and you can recreate the bank robbery scene in heat and actually make it. It will eventually be the embarrassment my child will drive. I may even Velcro wood panels to the side to mentally injure them more.

With the exception of a few recalls, wife's 2016 has been flawless and a great long distance touring vehicle.

It’s not gonna bother them. They’ll pile all their friends in and before you know it, the van will have 170k miles on it with dings and scratches everywhere. And you’ll be like wtf???!!

You should get a set of PowerStops for it. Ceramic pads and slotted/crossdrilled rotors. They are a little noisy as can be expected with slotted but they grab like claws and I got 35k miles out of my last set with zero warping and I'm not very nice to brakes.

I was able to get both sets on Amazon for the same price as OEM.

We’ve got a 2011. Took forever to find a decent one AND awd. The wife loves it so far. I don’t mind cruising in it and it gets up pretty decently as well. Kids love it for the tv and road trips. Thinking of putting a raspberry pi with some retro nindendo games on it for the next trip though

iirc, with the 21 you can't remove the middle row seat anymore and its only offered in a hybrid. i'd have to drive it a bit to see if i'd be ok with the hybrid. this is prob our last sienna tho. we bought the 2017 new and only have 36k miles. our kids are older, 14 and 17 so prob empty nest in the next 4-5yrs. damn getting old. lol. good luck.
