I watched one of his videos once and wasn't interested. Then I see he has literally hundreds of thousands of views per video. I don't understand why.

I feel that Toyota is doing pretty well in NASCAR, and as long as they are in NASCAR they’ve to keep 8 cylinder engines on the showroom floor. Just my opinion

I like Scotty. He bashes pretty much every manufacturer other than Toyota and Honda for being unreliable. Though I'm not a big fan of his pro-Ford/anti-GM and anti-Hyundai/Kia biases.

Yes eventually the V8 will go away for most vehicles, but with Toyota they have used turbos for a long time, Lexus for example, so bringing turbos over to the toyota line up would be easy to do I dont believe there would be too many issues.

Toyota NASCAR racing engines are truly a pushrod design which makes this thread even more interesting.

    Currently:
    • 5.8-liter V-8 engine
    • Pushrod design
    • Four-speed manual transmission
    • Up to 700 horsepower

    Working on it!
The next environmental hazard will be from the lithium-style batteries used in electric cars. Extracting it is bad, causes air pollution, requires caustic chemicals to process; piss-poor disposal is bad...contaminates water and soil. This falls right in line with folks thinking the electric used to charge these cars is immaculately produced from thin-effing-air. <off my soapbox now>

Ram and Dodge will probably be the last ones standing with the V8 engine their new model reveals including the 807 HP production line Challenger and the upcoming Estimated 700+ hp Ram TRX points to that. Toyota hasn't dropped the V8 entirely (correct me if I am wrong there) but they appear to have a V8 still going on in certain lexus models after the new Tundra comes out if that doesn't have a V8 option.

I think there would be a V8 option just not what we currently have. My guess would be a smaller displacement but maybe with twin turbos, in which case my attention would be gained...

Scott is an entertaining guy, hes not for everyone but I get a laugh from him.

If Toyota stopped developing V8 I wouldn't be surprised. Wouldn't matter much to me because my little 4.7 is immortal

Twin Turbo Six banger would be a nice match for the new Bronco-Slayer singlecab.

I bruised a kidney just looking at that and thinking about how choppy the ride would be.

I’m not a qualified journalist - sorry for any offense. I was just poking a little fun at the validity or lack there of the window sticker. Who would’ve thought a simple piece of paper could incite such scrutiny...

Pulling V8s could potentially change the way we view some of Toyota's largest vehicles like the Tundra and Land Cruiser that are known for reliability, lasting hundreds of thousands of miles without a problem. I guess nobody buys a Toyota V8 just because it works for 20 years anymore, people these days seem more interested in disposable tech.

The way i'm reading this article is, Toyota in Japan is stopped developing a 4l twin Turbo. Doesn't mention our 5.7s nor North American development. I think I read somewhere the 5.7 is developed in Detroit? This seems to be specific to Japan and the Lexus stuff.
