Ammoseek just lit up with some 556 options. Got another 150 rnds on the way from Sportsman’s outdoor Superstore. Now approaching my 1000 round comfort zone so can slow down and wait for bigger bulk deals, just wanted to snatch up whatever quantities were available until I could get to about here before/in case it dried up even more severely for awhile.

There is no such thing as too much ammo... unless when swimming.

Yeah it’s aggravating. I bought an AR-10 last week just bc .308 is easier to find than .223. Expensive but available.

Why I feel .22 lr is always a good *shtf* caliber. Weak and inconsistent but you can haul some rounds.

Shelves bare again here too. One big gun-store with good distributors periodically gets enough 556 and 9 in to sell small bulk lots of 1-200 rounds off that they'll advertise on facebook, or they may let 1 box of 9 or 45 per customer go when there’s no bulk deals. I also found one tiny hole in the wall local gun store that had boxes 9 and 556 way out of town a couple weeks back that I think people just don’t know about. The store down the street from me that kept full shelves until late summer *may* sometimes have one box of 45 to offer when I stop in but 9, 38, 556 and 223 are gone. Sometimes they'll have a couple 20-25 round boxes of self defense stuff in something popular.

556 shot even higher over night after election day but thankfully I’m to a point where I don’t feel the need to buy it every time it’s available.

At this point the only thing I’m really short on is 38 for my j frame, which I think they just must not be making right now because I’ve seen none in months. I don’t shoot it often so not too broken up over it.

45 was the last thing to disappear or get pricier around here because that’s not the cartridge newbies are guided to so I’m considering a 45 cal pistol cal carbine since I already accumulate it. I know getting something in 22 is the sensible option but I feel like I’d just ignore it whenever ammo is abundant.

I *may* take one rifle and 3-4 mags of 223 out once in December to sight in an optic and play a bit, depending on what things look like.
