So I was driving my 06 dc from northern cal back home to TN and as I climbed in elevation my tpms light came on so I pulled over and checked all tire pressures including the spare and they were all about 32-34 and I thought maybe the elevation and pressure caused the sensor to trip. So when I got home today I filled them all up to about 40psi including the spare and the light is still on sitting here in the driveway. Any ideas why it’s staying on?

Did you push the non-descript button on the dash just under the steering wheel to reset it while the truck is on?

Pushing and holding the button IIRC just tells the computer to save the current TPM pressure, and if it gets 10psi lower than that, trip the light again.

If you have the original sensors, I've read that the sensors only last 10 years or so.
They may need to be replaced...

The lithium ion batteries inside TPMS sensors may last anywhere from five to 10 years.
Five to six years is a more typical lifespan for older TPMS sensors.
TPMS sensors don’t broadcast a continuous signal but only broadcast when the vehicle is in motion.
Even then, the signal is intermittent to conserve battery.

^This. Most likely 1 or more sensors are not communicating with the TPMS ECU. Check the other threads on how to fix or disable.

It took several visits to the tire shop AFTER having all 5 sensors replaced to get my tpms working right. They ended up replacing all 5 sensors a second time to get it workin.

Likely one or more have gone bad....probably looking at a replacement or to just deal with the light.

    Did you check the spare?

Oh I can’t read. 90% chance you have a dead sensor

Most tire shops will scan your sensors and diagnose the issue for free. It’s the fix that’ll cost you (replace one or more sensors).
