    eh, the ol girl pulls 7500 just fine. i just need to get the brakes sorted out on it. i just give myself a large braking distance. trailer brakes help alot. but the front brakes .. meh

    Yeah. She pulls fine. Its the stopping part. I wish I had trailer brakes, but she is a single axle torsion system. No way to make it happen easily. I keep it under 4k for safety and like you keep a safe bumper distance.

    I actually think this little thing tows better than the f350 we usually use. Yea it has more torque (7.3 turbo diesel) but thing beats your whole body up with the suspension setup. Tundras taken over car moving duties and the f350 is strictly for 7500+ towing.

    Ugh! Alright, so I thought I purchased the correct parts but instead I got a 14WB Caliper.

    Anybody know if these will work? I did a quick search and it appears the difference has something to do with the bolt size difference.

    I hate these hiccups.

    Quick shout out to Geoffrey Beers AKA the original poster.

    I managed to get a hold of him and he sent me a pair of calipers for my Sequoia.

    Geoffrey made sure I had proper wheels and spacer before selling me the parts. I appreciate that.

    Got these installed with Brembo rotors and Hawk LTS pads. My tech has been bleeding my brakes repeatedly (4 times) and the truck finally has a firm brake pedal since I've owned it.

    Will report back with more driving!

    Update:

    So the brake pedal is still going soft, might need some viagara..:monocle:

    All jokes aside, I think I need a new master cylinder or something. Got brand new rotors, pads, steel brake lines and calipers all around. OE the way to go? I could have swore that a T100 master was an upgrade.

    The brakes look nice!.. Other than the pedal, when the brakes bite, they're biting much stronger. My old parts were all OEM stuff on 13WL calipers(for sale).

    I've only driven 15 or so miles. I no longer get the sensation that I'm going to rear end the guy in front of me whose stopped at the red light.

    Weird. Usually going to larger calipers causes an harder pedal. Due to the master not flowing enough fluid

    That's hilarious, I explain the upgrade almost the same.. still mushy (not as bad) but I still get the quick panic until I actually hit the brakes and then it goes away because it actually stops!

    Haha! Well I'm sort of glad I'm not the only one. Next step in the process of elimination is buying a new master... I'm guessing the one I have is original with 205k miles on it.

    I'll shoot Geoffrey a text to get his opinion on this. I'll also do more research on the T100 setup.

    I already had the 13WL stock on my 2005 Sequoia, I upgraded to the 14WA as mentioned in the original post.

    I've read that people have found success going from WE to WL but I've never driven on WE calipers.

    Yes. Well worth the upgrade going from WE to WL. I redid my entire brake system which you can check out in my build page for parts info. Your existing master cylinder and booster do not need changing. DIY total cost is under $400. Our front calipers are all tired at this age. Rear drum cylinders too.

    Another update: With the soft/mushy pedal aside...

    Oh boy does she bite! There's definitely a big difference in before vs after. I did a full stomp on the brakes a couple of times from 45 MPH to properly bed the brakes. These brakes made the tires squeal. Stock never made my BFG K02 285/70/17 squeal. I've tried before.

    The nose dives deep on this heavy pig. The brakes certainly stop the inertia of the vehicle in a respectable manner. The Hawk LTS pads and Brembo rotors possibly aid in this as well.

    Prior to this with 13WL brakes with OEM Toyota rotors and pads.. It had nowhere near the bite the current combo has.

    I give this mod an A+. It can be done on the cheap if you buy your own 14WA calipers and have them milled yourself. Easily the most significant mod I've done to the truck aside from lift/suspension.

    I'll second that. I reccomend any 00 - early 03 owner do this upgrade.

    Which ever caliper you end up with I recco the El Fluido Suprémõ.

    Do a sacrifical flushing with the Regular DOT3 to push out the gookies, then do a final follow up juicing with the Suprémõ.

    For those not on facebook, he just posted that you can send him calipers to have machined for $65. Return shipping is at your cost. So now you can buy off rock auto and send to him for much cheaper.

    Which ones are you eyeing on Rock Auto? Most of the decent ones I'm seeing are around $115 each, since I won't get back the core charge. By the time I paid for shipping and machining it would be cheaper just to buy from him, and I'd be getting OEM calipers.

    Thats the way I would go. Get OEM with a quality paint job. You can go aftermarket on the pads and rotors but the calipers aren't the place to go cheap.

    I went cheap on my last calipers and they're rusted to hell in less that 2 years in California, can't imagine what they'd be like in a state that has Winter.

    I was looking at the raybestos reman coated. $104 each, plus I've found with core charges they don't care if you send back different cores as long as they get a core back. The shipping back and forthe get's expensive though.

    I'm in Denver and have tons of family in Utah so I'm going to find some junkyard OEM calipers, rebuild them myself then physically take them to Geoffrey to machine. I think that's what @imDementeD did (the junkyard part)

    Just call around. First shopI called couldn't do it and referred the 2nd shop. $60 and 45 mins later they were done.

    Thanks for posting that. I think I'll take his advice. I've been staring at OEM calipers but the price has kept me from pulling the trigger.
