    How goes it friends..

I’m looking at getting either Bora or Spidertrax wheel spacers, thinking 1.5-2.5inches. I have ZERO issues with spacers, my Lexus already has smaller 25mm H&Ms all the way around, going on 8k miles. Being this is an older truck w 240k miles, and known to have LBJ issues, should I be weary of that much spacing and potential failure? Or any other excess suspension wear? I do plan on getting all new OEM LBJs with the level kit, so do you recommend just waiting as opposed to doing this on all-stock suspension?

Lastly what do you guys prefer of those two brands? I'd also like to see some shots if you've got spacers on (preferably stock suspension). THANKS. :D

Wheel spacers, just like low offset wheels, will cause more strain on your ball joints, bearings, etc.

Now that doesn’t mean it’s dangerous. Lots of people run spacers and offset wheels, me included. Just be careful.

I run 1.5 inch spacers on my 2006 tundra and they’ve been working good. It pushes the tires right to the edge of the TRD flares.

Bora and spidertrax are great brands. Here is another one I would suggest looking at.

Try doing push ups 3 different ways.

    1) With hands straight under your shoulders (stock).

    2) With hands under your nipples. No example for this.

    3) With hands spaced wider than shoulders.

Report back on which one is the easiest and which one tears your shoulders. With that being said, I like the look of 1.25” spacers and believe thats the minimum spacer for or first gen. Not arguing here but let your shoulders tell you the truth about spacers (which look cool) and how they effect your lower ball joints.

I've got 130k miles on my 16X8 American Eagle 589 wheels with 4.5" backspacing (came off a Chevy) and 1.25" wheel spacers. Have run 265/75/16 tires. 5100 level setup. No issues to report. Looks good to me. I've got the huge TRD flares so this brings the tires out of hiding and to the edge of the flares. Done lots of heavy towing and some mild off roading with no trouble.

my American Racing 16x8s with roughly 4.5in of backspacing sites just inside the flares. This is how it should've come factory.

I went ahead and ordered 1.5” Spidertrax, coming in on Monday. Looking forward to how it’ll look. Main reason again, I have 17” FJ wheels, not much backspace, and thinking ahead for when I get my 3” level soon.

    Let me see

Tried it and nowboth of my rotator cuffs have torn! But good news is I got the example

For some reason I like the silver nuts, matches my silver diff nut lol

Why would you need ET lugs if your using the same rim. Your not changing the thickness of the mounting surface on the rim.

You need these when connecting the spacer to the hub, especially for the front, because the oem studs are pretty short. These offer more thread engagement.

I think the lack of using these specific nuts is where people go wrong from the readings about spacers on our 1st Gens Tundras.

The tire shop that originally mounted my spacers referred to them as "deep shank conical seat" lug nuts. Then use the lugs that are recommended for your wheel to bolt it up to the spacer. Use a torque wrench for both.

Here’s how she looks. Considering removing flares, would def enhance spacing more  also thanks to @revtune for some useful tips!

    It looks good!

I was under the assumption you got the “hub centric” spacers.

Mine are not Hub centric either. I'm 14 years in with no issues to speak of. Some Wheels are "lug centric" anyway.

@revtune I actually just checked, the stock # for these spacers is WHS005, and Spidertrax claims these are “hub centric” on their site. They do fit around the hub tbh, but don’t have that lip... mind fucked.

So, My spacers are hub centric themselves to the vehicle. They do not have the raised hub lip for the wheel to center on. But my wheels came off of a Chevy truck, not sure the center bore would match anyway. I've never tried them without the spacers.

Two different hub spacer types. With the "lip" on the wheel mounting surface that allows for "hub centering" of the wheel. If the wheels are designed to be hub centered, this keeps the shimmys away. The second type has no lip. The spacer itself is hub centric if the center bore matches the hub of the vehicle, but with no lip, you can't "hub center" the wheel to the spacer with these. Also if you are running a different wheel bore, these allow for that. If the wheels are designed to be lug centric, then the lugs are what centers the wheel.

I think it looks good as it is. I like your look, but am spacer hubaphobic.

Anymore might look like a Chevy wannabe, but it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks but you.

    BTW, how is it driving/handling?

I think the wheel well spacing looks great on yours. A wider wheel or tire would put you closer to or outside the the fender lip. Any more spacer and you will be hanging out.
