I've lurked around on a lot of different forums for a while now and I still cannot decide on an exhaust system. I've listened to countless videos so I guess I'll just ask my few questions to those who have it.

    1. What is the difference between the bamuffler 6" system and let's say a flowmaster. Actual difference outside of drone.

    2. Is there an actual hp, torque increase, or mpg increase or is this all a smoke screen?

    3. From video clips, it seems like the bamuffler system only rumbles when you are on the gas. Is this true?

    Thanks

I've got the 8" system and did not install the resonator to eliminate drone, as I don't feel the system needs it.

    1. I've never compared, so I don't know
    2. @dirtydeeds might chime in
    3. My 8" has a deeper rumble at idle, but it's subtle. On throttle, it wakes up for sure. At cruising speed, almost as quiet as stock. My understanding is the 6" system is a little raspier sounding.

I literally just installed my 6" system yesterday morning. I too did not install the resonator yet. I'm not sure if I really need it or not yet. I'll be taking a short trip tomorrow out to the country so maybe I'll know more then.

Everyone around here seems to have a Flowmaster on their truck. I just decided to go with something else. To my ears, it seems the Flowmaster has more of a rumble than BAMuffler does.

It's still too new yet to know if there is any gains. I know a lot of people get on the gas so they can hear their exhaust, but I still (for the most part) drive it pretty much like I did before. Hopefully it increases some. I do not feel like there is a loss of power though.

When I first crank the truck up, there is a rumble in the exhaust, but it does not seem to be as loud as some of the other trucks around town. Maybe it's cause they have headers or something. I don't have clue. Driving normally, the sound from this system is strange. Not in a bad way, but it's just different. You kinda get that warble sound while on the gas and it will turn more of a raspy type sound. I did floor it yesterday just to see what it sounded like. Once the RPM's got up and I was around 50 mph, the tone was just exhaust. Not really any warble or raspy. I don't know how to explain it. I wished it was a bit louder but that's me. I can't go with the budget system because of Texas inspections. They don't check here when I'm at yet, but that's not to say they won't next year.

    1. BAmuffler 6" is a little more mellow. Our dual budget dump on the other hand makes any other system cry:)

    2. Any exhaust that is s flow thru design in place of stock gains power. The trick is to gain this power without losing low end torque or droning to death. We cover both issues.

    3. Depends on which system you go with. But this is for sure the case with the 6" system.

What BAmuffler would you recommend if I wanted a true rumbling exhaust noise even at idle? 8", 10" something else? I want loud, but I'm not sure that I want to delete the muffler entirely.

even straight piped these trucks don't make a lot of sound at idle. But our 6" does have some sound at idle.

Honestly, just go with the 6" system. Sounds like you are wanting it to be louder with mufflers. Pretty much the same as me. I think if you are not happy with it, Keith will exchange it as long as you pay for the shipping. Or at least I think I read that somewhere else. If not, I'd like to apologize now. Even if I was pulling a trailer, I do not think it would bother me. Sound is subjective though.
