That might be the worst advice anyone's ever given me and it's illegal in my state.

Edit- that sounded a bit less harsh in my head. I didn't mean to sound like a dick but I have no interest in holding my phone while driving even if it were legal.

That's neat looking but I can't really tell how it mounts. How does it stick to the phone?

"Ooo look I'm still talking my eyes off the road and using my phone BUT, ITS MOUNTED ON MY DASHBOARD SO ITS OKAY!" thats what i think of when i see elders leaning forward still taking their eyes off the road. Thats just my logic on it. Its all good though it wasnt harsh. I'm able to open my spotify and go to specific playlists without having to look at my phone other then a brief second, usually being at stoplights edit: look at post 6634, how is that ANY better than having it in your hand so u can quickly use it??

Please don't try to justify holding your phone in your hand as being "way more safe" as you put it. Just because you can get away with using it without consequence doesn't make it safe. I lost a good friend and fellow motorcyclist because the teenager behind the wheel paid more attention to her phone than driving.

Ok but how is a phone mount any safer? Thats my point here. Its either throw it in your center console or dont. No "o i have a phone mount"

"OK Google" and "Hey Siri" can open Spotify, navigate, call, text, etc. All without having to touch or look at your phone. Not to mention many states have hands free laws on the books.

All of which can be achieved with the phone sitting in your cupholder. The phone mount is there merely for the purpose of physically using your phone, so i think

I don’t need to touch my phone once it’s in the mount. That’s what the big screen in front of my face is for. But you do you boo.

We weren't discussing a phone sitting in a cup holder. You stated that a holding a phone is way more safe. It's bad advice, plain and simple. But as mentioned, you do you.

Well your point was that with phone mount u can easily use siri, where as u could do the same thing with it in between your legs on your seat or the cup holder.

Ok I have the final say and then we can move on from this yea? :)
I hear what Pucks is saying. There are SO MANY distractions taking drivers eyes away, whether it be a phone in a hand, in a phone mount, a touch screen where the hvac fan level is only accessible after pressing climate, then fan control, then tapping the level up or down! It’s ridiculous.
People just need not be on their phones while driving. The text message can wait 10 minutes till you get home.
The phone call isn’t that important.
You can browse your Instagram later.
Car manufacturers aren’t making things any easier with CarPlay and the likes either as you still have to get out of audio mode, go to phone or imessage, etc.
    Ok I’m done

It doesn't "stick" to the phone (although I've used those types before I got the Pro Clip). Your phone slides down into the holder, which you adjust during initial install to fit your phone. I also like the power cord (in my case the lightning plug for iPhone) is attached to the holder, so when the phone is put into the mount it is automatically charging as well.

I like these but I want something mounted higher up so I can monitor my Torque Pro app without having to look down. Their suction cup mount looks promising.

Both hands on the wheel. You gotta be ready for those soccer moms checking their phones and driving erratically after dropping Tyler and Kaitlyn off at school heading to hot yoga class.

Too many goofy people around these days. Most everyone is on their phone in traffic. Most everyone here speeds and its against the law, too. Next time look around while driving or at a light. Goofy people everywhere getting their social media brainwash.

The other goofy phone thing is when they stop (usually in a neighborhood) in the middle of the street to send a text. You stop behind them not aware until you see them head down into the screen. Hey pull over to the curb goofy!

Last goofy phone thing is the phone holder up high on the console blocking views and the drivers are locked in on the screen waiting for it to tell them when to turn. Its obvious their head is directed right at the phone.

Walk into a store (Pre/Post Covid) where people are around and say hi and they are zombies locked in on the screen. What? Someone said hi? Huh? People interacting? Huh?
