Anyone else just leave the factory amp where it is after installing a new stereo? :D

Took me awhile to figure out how the wiring harness hooks up. Anyway, I was unable to loosen the left screw but got the one on the right. That was enough for me to lift on the right to unplug the connectors on the amp. Then I just left the amp with the harness to it and tucked it away behind everything.

Nothing wrong with leaving it there. I was able to get mine out with an impact and a long extension, so I kept it out for weight reduction.

It'll be fine back there. I left an entire Honda radio tucked back in the dash once because the brain for the keyless security system was inside the head unit :notsure:
I also mounted my Sirius/XM module back there in my truck.

@1lowlife those old Punch amps were so solid. I had a 75 and a 45 and wish I still had them.

Wish I still had mine too.
Had one under each side of the front seat.
One for the front doors and one for the rear.

I first had those in my then new 1988 GMC step side...:eek2:

I had them in my 86 Ram D50 and my old Beetle. I got them from my brother who ran them in his Mighty Max, his Beetle, his 95 Silverado and his 91 CRX. I borrowed them and gave them back around 2003, now they're buried in his garage somewhere.

Had an old Punch 45 in high school, Ran 4 kicker competition 8's. Burned the bridging module out of it and ran it with just one channel for awhile. Best $50 I ever spent. These amps are way underrated.
