The meanest, nastiest, ugliest shit that’s ever come out of my mouth has always come out when I’m driving. People are morons, man.

Other than that, I’m a rambler. I’m a very detailed oriented person so it makes perfect sense in my head that everyone else wants every detail about every damned thing also.

If there are multiple switches that control one light, they all gotta be in the down position if the light is off.

I also masticate my cuticles. They’re yummy.

Damn that sounds awful. I haven't taken a huge loss on anything so far. I always end up making some money on things I sell.

I have a visceral reaction to the music I hate and I absolutely can not listen to any of it. I have to immediately change the channel, leave the room, step outside at a wedding, whatever.
If I were captured by the enemy and they wanted to make me talk, just blast Phil Collins (for example) and I’ll fold.

Just wondering if you ever had a sleep study? My B-I-L is the way you describe, his mind never shuts down, doesn't dream, constantly thinking, etc. He's been having some issues lately with fatigue and almost passing out. I truly believe he needs a sleep study. Not dreaming usually means there is no REM. No REM means not a true deep restful sleep from what I understand.

To stay on topic, my quirk is to over analyze, as shown above, and to try and correct problems as I see them. Definitely to a fault at times.

Nope, never done a sleep study. I've looked into it, but I feel as though the data would be flawed with me. I toss and turn if my blankets aren't exactly how I like them. Forget about getting any sleep while hooked up to machines or being watched.

I think I sleep pretty well though. I wake up after 7 - 8 hours, feeling well rested. I sleep through the nights, the only times I wake up is to drink some water or take a leak but that happens only once or twice a week. No abnormal fatigue during the day, loss of focus etc.

The Woman thinks I dream since she's seen my eyes moving when I'm asleep. Maybe I do have dreams but don't remember them. All I know is that sleep is a black abyss, I fall asleep and then I wake up in the morning.

For the longest time, even into adulthood, when going down stairs, I would skip the bottom step.
My older sister told me when I was a young kid that if I stepped on the bottom step I would be bothering the witch that lived under our stairs and that she would come out and attack me. Thanks, sis....

    I've suffered like you.
I once bartered for 20 minutes with a stallholder in a market in the Canary Islands for a small leather camel i had no use at all for, but it was a wonderful haggle and I got a real good deal on it!

So I'll actually contribute instead of crack a joke. There's plenty honestly, but I cant help but so the light switch thing too with 3-way switches. Which sucks, cuz when we built the house, we put in quite a few 3 and 4 way switches.
I also must sit facing the door/exit or at least always visible.
I almost always drive because I critique other drivers I'm riding with. But along the same lines, I used to have bad road rage, now I just keep it to myself...but I get easily aggravated with other drivers.
I used to be bad about making sure I balanced everything out and catch myself doing it once in a while. If I eat, equal amount both sides. If I go somewhere by walking, when I return I would have to go the same way. I used to avoid cracks on the ground/floors. If floor was patterned, I'd step in it within the patterns. I cant stand leaving things imperfect or half assed. I park between the lines close go perfectly centered if I ha e the option. It bothers me alot to not fully wash my vehicles. If I start, not finishing is not an option. I used to be in retail, so I have to put grocery carts back, put an item back where I got it if I change my mind, and even turn items on the shelf to face them straight. I can go on a bit, but I'll stop before it gets too weird. Lol

Same thing, same job. 20 years knocking tin and I scrutinize all the exposed duct I see. There was a bar my friends and I would go to that had exposed duct. I hated going there because whoever hung did such a shit job hanging it all I would is get so drunk I'd ignore it, or just point out all the problems with it to them.

Other weird quirk, left work boot goes on first.

Some people hate or are intimidated by negotiating. I have family who work at dealerships and they always get upset when I purchase a vehicle and not go to them. I explain that I negotiate very aggressively and would hate for them to feel screwed over haha.

    That camel story is hilarious!

I dream every night, and they’re never good. I don’t sleep much at all. Ever. Been working off of maybe 4 non consecutive hours of sleep a night for years. I have a lot of the same quirks others have here also.

I’m not capable of ignoring things or people that I don’t like. My wife always says I shouldn’t let things bother me so much. The concept is completely alien to me. Apparently most people can do that, but I seriously can’t grasp how. I hold grudges indefinitely. I don’t trust anyone.

I have a weird need to play “devil’s advocate” in conversations. It’s something I have to actively resist.

I actually become more anxious and stressed when things are going well than I do when they aren’t. I’m more comfortable with struggling than I am with success for some reason. It’s like I have natural need to always be overcoming something.

I enjoy helping others, but despise anyone helping me. I’m overly protective of people I care about.

I could go on and on. I self reflect constantly, so I’m well aware of how weird my brain works.

    TLDR: I’m an asshole.

yes! but it's funny, i was doing that before i ever worked in retail. all my money has to be in order, facing the same way, and not have the corners folded in or anything.

i worked at a print shop for a little while after getting laid off a few years ago. we printed things, like mailers, booklet, pamphlets, pretty much anything on paper. We worked with a heidleburg press for the most part as well as an HP digital press. learned some cool stuff. But now thanks to working with paper for a couple years as a bindery department manager, I had to cut down lots, so I learned how to get paper to jog easier and can't help but fan and jog paper before putting it in our copier/printer at work. I also can't help but critique places menus and all to see if the colors were laid over properly or if it was folded/cut well. it's a cool little thing to learn about presses and all the ways the color lays onto them. most people only see what lazer printers do.
