What needs to be trimmed?

I have a question about trimming. I have and am about to install bilstein 5100 all the way around with the front at top setting and toytec shackle on the rear set a 1. On the way are fuel hostages 20x9 at +20, tires also on the way are nitto terra g2 295/65/20.

So my question is what would need to be trimmed(flaps, skid plate, please not body mount, wheel well covers??), and is it noticeable should I decide to sell in the not to near future ( 2011 SR5 approx. 62k miles) and put the factory wheels and tires back on?

For the bilstein install local shop asked $400 to do it with alignment, seems kinda steep. I think i'll give it a shot this weekend with the rental spring compressor or just take them up to the shop and have the front strut coils done? advise?

 

That's a true 35". You're probably going to need to do it all.

 

Sorry about your luck but the body mount will be where you have issues. You'll need about 3 inches to be able to clear anything larger than a 285/75r18. Granted, you wont rub a lot but you definitely rub.

 

*NOTE: mine is a gen 3, so there may be some differences. Maybe a gen 2 owner will chime in*

I have 3" lift in front (.5" more than you'll be) and with my 295/60/20 (34.29" according to cooper website) and a +18 wheel, I had to:
1. remove both front and rear mud flaps in the front
2. push the wheel well liner forward and re-drill the two screws underneath to hold the new position
3. use a heat gun to re-shape the liner some giving me a little more clearance (mostly where the bulge in the liner is on the bottom...you'll see it when you remove the mud flaps)

Nitto lists your tire size at 35.12", so it is a safe assumption you'll need to do everything I did, plus possibly chop the body mount. This I'm not sure about, I'd have to see how much clearance I have.

 

Thanks for the input, I don't really have a problem with the flaps or wheel well liner, I would rather not have to get into the body mount. Would going down to 285/65/20 help? The 295/65 is 35.1" tall and 11.6" wide with the 285/65 its 34.6" and 11.2" is that enough clearance to stay away from the body mount. I will put my order on hold until I hear. Is the width of the tire the issue or the height?

 

Thanks for the replies, I have the 5100's installed with the wheels and tires, ended up going with the Terra G2 285/65/20 on fuel hostage at +20 offset. Removed the mud flaps, loosened the well liner and moved it forward. Doesn't seem to rub anywhere else.

 

I have 5100's on top setting all around. I put on Toyota Trd 20x9 Carve wheels with 275/60/20 Bfg Ko2's and I had to pull off the 2 side pieces on my skid plate. That was it. I was actually a little surprised after doing quite a bit of research and people saying that I wouldn't have any issues but they were hitting it. It ended up working out I was able to just bend them down and they snapped off on the spot welds. Nice and clean
