Kind of stopped doing stuff to the truck as I recently purchased this supervan from friends that went halfsies on it together. Runs, drives and brakes like a dream, just needed some work done on the coolant system.

So far I've flushed the block, replaced the radiator, tested the thermostat (replacing it anyway), bypassed the heater core (but will replace and reconnect), rewired some broken connections, replaced a headlight, replaced tail light lenses, resealed the topper and yesterday my buddy hooked me up with these front seats that fit my idea for the interior. Just waiting on the thermostat housing to show up so I can hook everything back up and see how she does. Also waiting on the new air cleaner to come in (hopefully today). The blower motor was taken out at some point, so I need to replace that. I found a company that makes a radio that looks identical to the stock one, but it has AM/FM/Aux (and bluetooth, I think), so I'm going to scoop one of those. One of the windows in the pop top is broken, but my friend has stained glass skills, so the vision is to make a new window pain for it with the Ford logo in the center. Having a really fun time with this new project and honestly, I'm happy the Tundra can be the reliable daily. IMG_0083.jpg Van1.jpg IMG_0300.jpg

Long term goals are to add a pop up moon roof (to get rid of that awful "fix"), put it on bags, Have a friend do some pinstriping and paint some sort of hand lettered sign. Maybe some sort of mobile bicycle mechanic/sag wagon sign lmao, continue the beige/brown/cream color scheme throughout the back with a matching couch and build out the back with a small kitchenette and storage space for camping and tools.

Nice find! What engine does it have? 2 or 3 speed auto? Looks like fun to take to a state park or the beach somewhere!

It has the 170. It had a 3 on the tree toploader transmission originally, but the PO swapped a C4 4 speed automatic into it. Interestingly enough, they lef the 3 on the tree column, so it makes shifting from park to drive to reverse and so forth pretty interesting, but it does work :bananadead::rofl:

I've been looking at new columns and rebuilt toploader transmissions and they're pretty comparable in price. I know the 3 on the tree would be strung out on the highway, but I'm really leaning towards putting it back to how it came originally. It's going to be a slow go anyway, right? I've heard of the 4 on the tree, but those are hard to come by. But maybe, given that I've got a good transmission on it, I should just opt for the new column with auto stalk shifter.

The ODO reads 38k, but I realize that doesn't mean anything given the rollover after 99,999. But I will say, it runs smooth enough to want to believe it only has 38k :D

I've never been a Ford guy but I do really like those vans and the truck versions. Back in high school my friends dad had a fleet of those but wouldn't sell them.

    Thanks!
There weren't a lot made. They were made here in Englewood, CO. I'm really excited to give it the creature comforts and maybe a little more power if possible!

I've always loved the look. I've never really been an American car guy, but I've always wanted one of these vans.

Thankya kindly! Still waiting on the thermostat housing. Probably going to finish sealing the pop top today and maybe clean out all of the stuff I've been accumulating in it :tinfoilhat:

Brings back some great memories of my 66. Mine had the 240 with a 3 on the tree. Remember one time going camping with 6 guys and all of our gear which was mostly beer. Could not go over 50 cause it would start to lose control and go all over the road. Can't wait to see the finished project !
