Console cover issue.

I noticed my console cover separating over the weekend. Do you think this is covered by the factory warranty?

 

Yes, it will be covered by warranty.
Unless the odd chance they can prove that you caused it through abnormal use etc. But that's unlikely. They typically don't ask much questions, they just fix it when it is still under warranty.

 

Perhaps I'll mention it when I get the fuel pump replaced. It's a 2019 with only 10,000 miles. I was guessing they would give me grief.

 

Depends how inconvenient leaving your truck in is. As long as it’s not ripped, the console comes apart and you can fix it with a glue gun, it probably take me 15min. Here’s mine with an aftermarket cover.

 

I've actually considered an after market version I like better. Perhaps with red stitching.

It was a while back on eBay from a seller in Texas, I recall one with red stitching, there were lots. Putting a whole new one will take longer though. I also wedged a very thin piece of foam underneath in the shape of a U (basically the top of the console’s shape) to give it more cushion. It’s pulling, tucking, glueing in parts, because you want it tight and right (what she said).

I like that look. I'm capable of installing a new one but was not sure if warranty would repair the existing. I'll have you decide. Btw, if you installed Katzkins then the console should have been a piece of cake.

 

JoshuaA- thank you! I didn’t know this existed. I installed Katzkin last summer and thought it strange they didn’t include this in the kit.

 

For 32.00 bucks for the cover that's an easy win. Im gonna have to do this.

 

Just had mine replaced two days ago. Warranty covered the repair at my local Toyota dealership

 

Happened to my father in laws truck as well. They fixed it under warranty no questions asked.
