My daughter was looking at RAV4s, but after finding out they're not true 4WD she changed her mind. She wants a beach vehicle for the OBX, and AWD won't cut it most of the time, especially around the ramps which are usually pretty soft. She found this locally. I'm not real familiar with 4runners, so I though I'd ask here. Is the mileage too high? Any other input would be most welcome.

I personally don't think the mileage is too high. As long as it has been properly maintained, it will run a long time. Just fyi...that era 4runner also came with a 4.7L V8. (same as the 4.7L in some Tundras)

It would be awesome to find one of those!
    This is the 4.0.

Those 4.7's are difficult to find for sure....as long as you can verify the maintenance records I wouldn't let that mileage bother you.

The 4.0L is great engine! That mileage is nothing to worry about if maintenance was probably maintained like others have mentioned.
