Go Hokies! I'm class of 93.

I can't lie, I've seen some new Silverados that look sweet. Just not as sweet as a Tundra.

    Not nearly enough room here!
The peeps I know including some family members will BUY a new GM without considering anything else. When I finally BOUGHT my Tundra, it was after much research and shopping. People I know who BUY from GM, either don't know to care or don't care to know anything but what they ASS- sume!:D

I thought about all of the big 3 before the Tundra. Go to any of their forum sites and HALF of the posts are complaints about either the trucks or dealerships. Do we have leaky cam towers? Sure. Is this a perfect truck? Nope. Do some people sometimes have an issue here or there? Yup. Does this forum look like any of the others in terms of problems? NOPE!

If you want a total shit show...go to a Jeep JL forum. Frame welds coming apart mid-highway. Engine problems at 1500 miles. Paint issues. Leaky roofs. Electrical gremlins everywhere. The vehicle is famous for it's "death wobble" of the front axle. Total nightmare....

It is scary! What's scarier are problems with no fix. The number of lemon law buybacks, etc, etc, etc.

Your truck is boring in comparison. But who want’s to marry the crazy, wild, unpredictable girlfriend, right?

Exactly! What is boring is sitting in a lobby waiting on your truck. :)

I freaking HATE the reverse light feature on GM vehicles! In parking situations you never know if someone is about to launch out into you, or if they just got in the car and it's not started yet, or if that person you just went past (who was walking) just locked it up. I get the lighting at night would be nice, but put it somewhere else. Reverse lights for reverse only, please!

We rented a 2019 Crew Cab in Arizona in January and were not impressed. Drove and felt and looked on the inside like a 2005 or 2006 truck, not a 2019 one.

Well to play devil’s advocate....... us Tundra guys use that logic as a positive when talking about our trucks. So hammering another manufacturer for having a no frills truck’ish interior isn’t exactly fair.

Thats a damn shame. I grew up in a Chevy family. By and large, my 08 Silverado was a great truck. I hope they turn it around.

I've been an automotive technician for thirty years. I've worked for Ford Chevy and Dodge. I was a Dodge transmission technician for three years until Dodge was sold. All three have issues. Some would even say Toyota does too. But here is what I know; Ford doesn't have an R&D department for trucks. Dodge builds everything to last 100,000 miles only. Chevy uses the cheapest parts possible. My last truck was a 2004 Silverado that I bought for a song because the paint was dead. I put many miles on it with only minor problems minus the transmission failed. Once 5 years ago and again just before Fathers Day. I've been a Toyota fan from the beginning of my driving life. I bought a 1979 Hilux from a friend for $200 in 1991. He made $100 on the deal. I beat the snot out of that truck for years and it took it. I sold it for $750 after driving it off a cliff. I've build several rock crawlers and have only used Toyota. The axles are strong if your not stupid and not too bad if you are. Toyota has always been super solid. I had two choices when I bought my new Tundra on Fathers Day. The Tundra CrewMax or the Ram MegeCab 3500 HD. I need the rear seat leg room for my giant children (2 teens 6'+). The Ram has the Cummins and a Toyoda Transmission. Toyoda and Toyota are the same. I decided I don't need a one ton yet, I need reliability and comfort. I am pleased with my choice. The Tundra is very nice. I hope Toyota brings a 1 ton over in the next few years.
