I need a suggestion for a place to camp in Maryland or Delaware. I want to be near water where my kids can swim and play. I have 3 young kids and we will be bringing a travel trailer, so a family friendly place is better than a party place.

    Thanks.

If heading south, turn right. If heading north, turn left. Keep going west until you see a sign that says ..."Welcome to Colorado".

Okay, I'm not trying to be a jerk or an ass, but I just noticed something amusing.

I made this post asking for camp site recommendations in Maryland or Delaware. It has been one week and 2 people responded. There was a thread started about an Aquarium and issue with fish dying. There have been over 20 responses in 3 days.

Again, I'm not complaining and I mean absolutely no offense to anyone. I just find it funny that there was a greater response for a question about fish than about camping, considering this is Tundras.com and not Better Homes and Gardens.

    Made me laugh.

frontier town is nice, and ocean city md is quiet this time of year. If you don't want the ocean Elk neck state park in northeast md is pretty nice, definetly check out the lighthouse, and woody's for dinner.http://dnr2.maryland.gov/publiclands/pages/central/elkneck.aspx

Plenty planned thanks to all of you.
I agree with the previous comments on Frontier Town. If you want to look at Delaware, their state park system is really solid too. You can check out a bunch of different options here: http://www.destateparks.com/camping/delaware-seashore/index.asp so I think any one of them could potentially fit what you're looking for.

Kinda late to the party but anyhow for future reference I highly recommend James island state park. Primo campsites next to the water, family friendly, good facilities, kayak trails to a secluded beach, fishing, crabbing. Overall awesome.

Take a look at Trap Pond in DE too. 30 minutes to the beach and a bunch of programs for kids
