Cool will do. I painted them yesterday so still fresh. I sprayed a few coats of VHT primer so hoping it holds up.

 

Bumper is N-Fab.

You could always mask the tips and just do the pipes. I scuffed up the tips pretty well and then sanded in between primer coats so hoping it holds up well. I'll throw you an update in a couple months to see how its holding

 

Thanks. I've sprayed quite a few cars. So, I was really disappointed when the paint failed on my chrome mirror caps, even after what I thought was proper prep. I hope you have better luck than I did! Your truck looks great!

I'll pass! Those haeaders oughta go well with the dual exhaust. Probably see a little rise in MPG..... A little rise, get it hahaha.

Are you going with a TRD replacement setup too?

 

Not planning on it as of now. I saw that you went with Keith's TRD replacement, how are you liking it?

 

I like it, though it actually made my exhaust a little quieter, slight low end drone, but not bad. I guess the big thing is the "X" pipe factor that balances out the dual exhaust. I'm not sure how to explain it beyond that though. I know you'll love the headers and mids though. When's the install date?

 

I'm planning to do a dyno again soon. I'm interested to see how it compares to my stock readings.

 

Oh yeah I remember him telling me about the X pipe design. Honestly I'm not a huge fan of the tail pipes exiting behind the wheels which is why I painted them to help blend them in. I would love to have the exhaust dump under the truck but then it would be too loud lol. Probably won't get to it till next weekend. So they will just sit on my workbench teasing me everytime I walk in and out of the garage lol

 

I was just going to ask if you did. Didn't you dyno with just your headers too?

 

Nope, I dyno'd it the week before I got the headers and mids. All I had done was changed to the AFE Momentum CAI. I've since removed that and went back to stock, with drop in K & N filter. So a dyno now would show with all aftermarket exhaust. Keith said it should be close to the JBA setup. All I can do after this is SC, but I'm not headed that way. I'd prefer all new suspension and killer audio system instead. I'll be looking back in on you...

 

Popped out the plastic "Pro Comp" peice in the center caps and added some custom decals to look more TRD official. Looks soo much better!!

Thanks brother. I keep tossing the idea around of going with an aftermarket bumper. I went with the 700 lb toytec coils so that I could do something.

Not sure if I want to go Fab Four or N-Fab like yours....

Funny you mention that cause one of the bumpers I was looking at was the Vengeance. I just didn't care for the rear bumpers and wanted them to match so ended up going with N-Fab. But I think it would look killer on your truck!

Yep, thats the exact one. Its not a cheap mod though ha. If I decide to do it, I'm going to color match it. I've gotta imagine I'm in it for 3-4k by time I purchase it, have it painted and installed. Then I've gotta add the lights.....*sigh*

 

Yeah that would look sick! I vote that route lol. I just picked up some cheapie lights from Amazon and they are holding up solid. Those lights get expesive real fast

I don't understand the appeal of the raptor...especially with that fucking price tag. Your tundy looks so much better brother.

 

Raptors are the equivalent to a dude in Ed Hardy jeans, Affliction t-shirts and tribal sleeve tattoos [probably has a faux hawk with bleached tips too].
