Bought this 2017 Tundra Limited yesterday. I went to the dealership thinking I was gonna get a silver Tundra, and black out the chrome. Then I saw this black color, and actually liked the way the chrome looked in contrast to the black. Getting TRD pro grille, dual exhaust, and rear sway bar installed this weekend. Greetings from Maryland, and wherever else I travel for work.

Welcome from VA. I have an identical '16 and love my truck, minus the chrome. I came from a Tacoma TRD Sport with color matched everything and just can't get used to the chrome. I ordered color matching front bumper ends and a TRD Pro grille this weekend and can hardly wait for them to get here.

I worry that getting rid of all the chrome will make the truck look too black. I will look forward to pics. You can be the guinea pig. HAHA.

Congrats on the new truck. Looks like your Limited has BSM, and there should be an active recall on it. I'm surprised you were able to take it home. There are a few members on here who weren't able to bring the trucks home until after the recall corrective actions have taken place. Did your dealer mention anything? I'd run you VIN here http://www.toyota.com/recall to check

Thanks, I will check it out. They did say that there were some Tundras on the lot that they couldn't sell. It depended on when the truck was built. I think mine was built after they started recalling the others. I think I am good, but it couldn't hurt to check.

I've worried about that too, it looking too black, but I'm not planning to murder it out. I'm planning to leave the chrome badges, the bedside decals and OEM wheels (for now). I've also thought about just moving my limited grille into the black grille surround and keep the Pro grille insert for down the road. I think the Pro grille looks best on a lifted truck but we'll see.
