It just all depends on how you are using the truck. Chances are you are probably doing a majority of daily driving with the occasional off-road/camping, I would go with the Icon setup. The Icon uses a digressive valving which soaks up the washboard a little better and gives a nice overall ride. The King and Fox tend to be a little stiffer out of the box on the street but like the Icon, still give you a night and day difference in ride quality over stock. You can spring/valve all these shocks however you would like to get them to ride pretty much all the same, I am just talking about out of the box feel.

Icon is also just about ready to start shipping out their 3.0 Coilovers as well, so another option to think about. Another cost saving point would be doing a tubular arm rather than a billet arm. Just comes down to what you want and what your wallet says you can have.

    See fine print
I'm in the same dilemma. Sub'd to see what people say.

What about Toytec/radflo? I'm considering that too on top of what you put out there.

I'm leaning towards icon to save some $$$ myself.

If you are gonna spend the $$, why not spend an extra couple bucks and go with a fully rebuildable shock. I know Toytec and Radflo have teamed up and are now doing a Toytec edition Radflo shock which I imagine is a good product. I don't know if they are doing anything different from a normal Radflo or if it is just the anodizing/coloring/spring color. That would be a question for Toytec.

As @sdhq_offroad stated, its going to be up to what you are going to be doing with the truck, the ICON's are a super solid option for the "weekend warrior" style driver but still will be able to take a fair amount of beating.

A option that was mentioned by @BlueBottle is the Toytec/Radflo 2.5's. What we did was paired up with the engineers over at Radflo to valve the shock itself specifically to the weight of the Tundra, ultimately giving you the best ride quality possible for on and off road use and are completely rebuildable like the other's.

@ToyTec Lifts is really helping me out with this. David is pretty much spot on with all recommendations and has gone above and beyond my expectations as a vendor. From what it sounds like, it all depends on the work you are either willing to put into the lift or money you are willing to pay for someone else to do it. I've heard mixed reviews about DB's (drop brackets) and it seems like anything past 4inches will require it. Meaning more work and more labor and possibly more money for the labor. I personally am looking into a 5in lift and running 35's with around a -20 offset. It looks like I'm going with 2.5 Fox's all around with a Zone 5 Suspension. I'm thinking this setup will not have me lose too much clearance (due to the DB) and have my height perfect for offroad adventures and will be solid once Amp research engineers figure out how to make the fold out sliders for the Gen 3. All in all, David can hook you up with good knowledge and routes to go!!!

The ADS group buy is a noteworthy option. Several people who, IMO, really know their $hit have ADS pretty high on their list of best shocks.

From the people that come into the shop, 9 out of 10 people don't go with the Fox's just due to the fact that the DSC is TOO much adjustment for them and it is not something they want to have to deal with. Also seems to be hard to get your hands on a set unless they are sitting on the shelf, our shock orders with them usually run about 2-3 months to get.

Yikes, I was looking into a set to go on a 5inch lift, but I'm not floating jumps and racing in the desert so I couldn't see the reason for getting them. Granted, being able to adjust for high and low compression sounds all sweet in a build thread, but for me, it wasn't worth it.

I went with KING / TC UCAs myself.
Waiting on KING to ship them. About a month b/o.
My friends tacoma had ICON and they kept leaking. After going through 2 sets under warranty, 4WP replaced them with KING.
He only drives freeways and like a grandpa.

also, ICON has a add a leaf set that's great for Tundra and doesn't break the bank. $180 ish I believe.
Better to have quality add a leaf than shackles with stock leafs.

Correct, Icon does an add-a-leaf pack that removes all but the main leaf and overload leaf to give you a much smoother and progressive ride. The pack does give you 1.5" lift so you will not be able to use those with factory leafs. $275. I think the tacoma add a pack is $180ish

No Fox for me. They do make nice stuff but it gets noisy and their finish doesn't seem to hold up. I will say that I have been looking at way more suspension then I need.
