Yesterday I had 295/70r18 nitto terra grappler G2 tires installed on 2019 trd pro rims (+60 offset). the tires are 34.3" diameter and 11.6" wide. no spacers and no trimming...literally no modifications. no rubbing. Comes super close to the front sway bar at full turn, but no rub. just in case anyone else is considering this...I had read numerous places this works on the TRD Pro truck, but couldn't find anyone putting them on stock SR5.

Btw, I'm doing a 2" fox 2.0 lift in the front and a 1" leaf block in the back, so should look even better. But here are some pics with the stock setup. Last pic is a comparison with the TSS rims with 275/55r20 michielin defender tires (32" diameter and 10.8" wide)

EDIT: I do have the RCI skid plate.

Not sure how you managed that without modifying at least the skid plate and forward little mud flap. From experience there is no way my 295 70 18 RGs would fit without modifying those two things minus the Billstein level I put on the front.

Good point...I did replace the stock skid plate with the RCI plate. I didn't consider that may be a limiting factor on a stock tundra. But the front mud flap is not an issue. At least 5 mm clearance

Pic of clearance with front mud flap at closest point:

With no lift that actually fills it out nicely. Good to know stock suspension can work without a lift. Might just be my next set of tires

Hmm I wonder if I can do this with my stock TRD OR wheels. They are the same size as the Pro.

Please let me know! Especially about the TRD wheels. This is likely the next considerable expense for my mod addiction.

I've been looking at these tires with great interest. This size does look good on the Tundra. What rating are yours, C or E? Have you decided on what PSI you're going to run? When are you installing the Fox 2.0s?

Probably depends on what the offset is on the trd rims. If it’s same or close to the trd pro Rims then you should be fine.

i got the e rated tires. They weigh a lot more than the 4 ply so keep that in mind. I’m running them at 44 which is what the ko2s that came with the truck from the factory were at.

Just out of curiosity. How did you test the suspension to check that there really is no rub?

They are the same 8" wide +60mm offset for TRD off road wheels. So it should fit the same. ;)

How did the E rated tires ride? I saw the G2's come in an SL rated that is only 50lbs. Wondering if that will ride nice or be to floaty.

Good question. I’ve been driving the truck for a few days now. Done a few full turn uturns. Turned into a few steep driveways. No issues

I like them. Def more road noise but I have to listen for it. That’s compared to my Michelin defenders. I like these much much better than the ko2s I used to have before the defenders.

Do those Pro wheels have a different offset than the TRD Off Road wheels? My stock setup was fairly close to the stock UCA so i threw on 1.25" spacers to clear it for 295's. That looks great, very surprised you didn't have to trim anything.

Seems like stock 8 wide +60mm will fit without spacers. Probably very close is my guess. Maybe the OP can get some pics of how close to UCA

Folks on here with TRD Pro trucks seem to just put 295's on as well without lift. (Pro does have about 2 inches lift over other tundra models though)

But it seems from this post that 2 inch did not matter much if it fits on an SR5.

@RussellVaughan please post a picture with your lift after you get it installed. Your truck is looking great with the 295's. Thanks for sharing this info with us.

I will tell you that running 295/70r18s on the stock wheels is tire specific as far as the rubbing goes. I have Cooper MTs and clipped the driver side sway bar at full right in reverse. Not bad but enough that I tossed spacers on. Nice looking truck!

Wow that’s great! I’ve been mulling over getting these exact size tires on a stock SR5. I don’t want a lift yet since it won’t fit in the garage otherwise (lots of theft in the area lately). Thanks for experimenting! Definitely gonna make the move now.

You may end up rubbing the sway bar when you lift it. I have a similar setup with OEM TRD-Pro wheels on Nitto Ridge Grappler 295-70-18 with Fox 2.5 Resi Coilovers set at 3 inch in front and 1 inch block in the rear.
When you lift it depending on the height the steering stops will be higher, and will allow the steering to turn past the stop and the tires rubbed on the sway bar .
I had Off road Wearhouse weld a small dime sized weld on on the stops which fixed that issue. 20210125_201250.jpg

CONFIRMED TO BE TRUE. I've been meaning to post an update after I put the Fox 2.0s on. The tires DO IN FACT rub the sway bar when close to full-turn. I don't mind it...since I'm usually moving very slowly when I make turns tight enough to cause the rubbing.

Side note, which is my bigger complaint. Apparently there is no way to correct the tire size in the computer...dealer says "its encrypted" and there's no way to do it. So I'm stuck with an odometer that reads short and speedometer that reads slow.

Other than these two issues, I love the tires/rims and lift.

EDIT: after learning that speedometer calibrators correct odometer too, I installed the rough country speedo calibrator and now my speed and odometer are correct (aside from the permanent difference of approx 700 miles between actual miles driven vs odometer reading caused by driving my truck about 12,000 miles before installing the calibrator.

So at factory height with no lift did you run the sway bars at all? Sounds like no.

With the added lift is there any difference in distance from tire to UCA? Or did that remain the same?

Correct, no rubbing on stock suspension.

This I don't know the answer. But there is no rubbing on UCA.
