So I ordered some LED turn signal bulbs for my 2020 which I read on here that "fit 2017+ even though Amazon says they don't fit", these:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PHVUWR8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well, they fit and light up, but they don't lock in place, so they just fall out with the slightest bump. Therefore I'll be returning these.

For those with the different socket style, which bulbs are you using? How do you guys feel about the switchback bulbs?

Looks like you don't have factory LED headlights. Different turn signal bulbs were used between the two housing versions.

Edit: nevermind, I did some creeping on your posts and saw you do indeed have the LED headlights... Not sure why you've got different signal bulbs. I've got those exact bulbs in my 2018 and they work without issue, though my factory bulbs looked different than yours.

I just installed those exact (JDA Astar) bulbs in my 2020 limited today and they make an amazing amount of difference over OEM halogen bulbs. I had no trouble installing them and they seated tightly.

I think it's because I have and SR5 which apparently uses the different bulbs.

The SR5 has the option for LED headlights if you get the TRD Off Road package. I think I saw your first post, which had a generic Tundra with LED headlights, and thought that was yours.

That would be my guess. Once you get the correct bulb, you will wish you had done this sooner

Sorry, bud, I bought these back in January 2019...They are garbage!!
Had the same problem...kept popping out and we're a pain. I even tried putting a screw in them in the socket. Nothing worked.
I switched to these and have had no problems.

THANK YOU! Ordering these now. Did you need any load resistors to stop hyperflash?

Edit: actually I found these ones which are the same socket but a little brighter, gonna try them out

There IS hyper-flash but I just live with it.
    Doesn't bug me....

    In the process of de-chroming....

Reason for no hyper flash is because your are using the hazards. Did you try just the turn signal? Either that or you are right on the verge. I bet if you do the rears you will need resistors. I'd hang onto them. Looks like you got the base figured out. The 3156 bulbs have the ears to clip in, the 7440 don't.

The LED bulbs you've posted in your first post are for the full LED headlamps as those uses a smaller 7440/7444 bulbs for turn signal. The halogen headlamps (the ones on your truck) uses a bigger 3157 turn signal bulbs. No wonder they keep popping off, youre trying to fit a 7440 bulb to 3157 socket.

Anyways, good job on getting the correct size led bulb with built in resistors.

Well...this helps explain where I also went wrong!
Thanks for the clarification, @Scoobyvroom and @Makoy339!
