2010 Lost Power Steering

Hey Guys,

I lost power steering after grabbing a drink at the local gas station. I started to go and it made a weird rubbing noise and i lost power steering.

I lost a lot of fluid and attached a pic. The Drivers side boot moves up and down(unlike the passengers side).

Help diagnose please!

 

I sent a pic to my mechanic and he said rack and pinion. Quoted me $1500...I might try and tackle this myself...i like the Rack Dr option...

 

Dayum.... part itself is about $700.... depending on where you get it from. I'm teetering on this myself... I'm also leaking on the driver side... I've seen a massive stain on the cross member, but not that serious.
