Administration mostly... answer phone calls for CID confirmation, try and figure out why a flight plan didn't go through, updating weather and relay clearances to smaller air traffic in satellite airports, NOTAMS, and sending departure messages to International flights among other things....

Hey @Black Wolf, have you worked with Norma meters? Almost 20 years ago I programmed a transformer test station (substation sized up to 60 MVA) where we used these meters. Programming the communications for these meters was pretty straightforward but the meters had very impressive update rates for the time.

I haven't messed with those things since then. So Fluke bought Norma? I didn't realize that.

Actually the Multinational company that bought Fluke, Tektronix, Hart Scientific, Davis Instruments, among many others over the last several years. Danaher. Haven't bought out us yet. My company I work for is #1 in calibration services now. Transcat!

Anyone want to relocate to Colorado? We need a calibration technician asap for our quite nifty 17025 accredited lab here in Aurora. Preferably "experienced" in torque, pressure, force, dimensional, length, temperature, scales. Great bennies and the Rocky Mountains. If interested....PM me.

I do the same thing except the shop I work at is a giant corporation basically. I’ve worked at a few aerospace shops in the PNW and didn’t like most of them because it was always quantity over quality. Now we are doing a lot of military/space pressure and temperature sensors. A lot of fun and although “corporate” has some shitty rules for the most part It’s a great place to work. Good pay, good benefits and really good profit sharing. Also forgot we use mainly okuma mills and okuma twin spindle others. All of the other shops I worked at were haas/Mori/mazak.

Bought me a Milwaukee 2267-20 Infrared gun. We calibrate infrared guns at work so I verified mine against our Fluke/Hart 4181 & 4180 Precision Infrared Calibrators. Met specs easily so that's good.

We get some items in for calibration from your facility actually. I run across work orders from time to time with 3M Nebraska and also South Dakota too.

You aren't kidding. The amount of technical upgrades and manpower we received this year were insane. I think I onboarded about 45 full time employees, and God knows how many temps!

Jesus. Our margins have been so rotten this year that we can’t afford our 5 year turnaround that was slated for next year. I wish the Arabs would go ahead and buy our company out!
