    I think the install point is between the shock bucket and coilover. I thought I would have to relieve spring pressure to change the preload circlip location.

    Ah, my bad. I thought they were threaded coilovers. Yes, you are correct in that case and I would agree that the shim on top of the shock would be a far easier way to go.

    Well, thing is the coilovers are installed. I put them in yesterday. Just today someone pointed out that the shim is a better method.
