I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I need to replace my A/C compressor. Looking at Rock Auto and Amazon for a replacement. Anyone have suggestions on where to get one? Which ones have you had good luck with? I have a 2010, 5.7 Flex Fuel, 4WD, Crew cab.

This is enough of a pain in the butt that I would get a new OEM compressor. Is the compressor locked up or is the clutch the problem?

I believe it's just the clutch. It makes a loud noise when I turn on the air coming from the compressor. When it's off, the clutch spins freely, but a little noisy. I'm a big believer in buying Toyota parts. Sometimes my wallet disagrees though.

I would buy a Denso remanufactured compressor. Much better price than brand new and should be the same quality. They are the OEM supplier for Toyota compressors.

I would agree. I even bought a Denso compressor for the Ford Crown Vic I had. They have good reviews. I shopped for compressors and most aftermarket ones were chinese and the reviews were bad.
How many miles do you guys have that you would need to replace the compressor? My Crown Vic had over 225K miles and was nearly 20 years old.

I would have expected higher mileage than that. I guess the old saying "your mileage may vary" comes to mind.

How much PAG 46 oil should you add to a new compressor. I am having a hard time finding an answer.

The last time I changed a compressor, on a Ford, the new compressor came with instructions on how much oil I had to add.
