U can do it man. No way of messing up. First you bolt them on and once they are all bolted up u see the locations where u have to drill.

I guess that makes it nicer. Rather than having to measure and then transfer it over. So you kinda end up drilling through the slider as well?

Nope. The hole on the slider is already there. U just follow that and drill the frame. Slide bolt thru, tighten it up and boom lift up your truck from the slider. If u don’t want to drill, they can also be welded on.

It’s not hard but more of a pain in the ass to hold pressure on the drill when ur on ur back. Some people use a jack to hold the drill in place and apply pressure.

Hey, Zach, @fisherman951 is right; you could totally do it yourself!

That said, if your time at home gets away from you, or you don’t want this to be your first big solo mod, dealing with something so heavy as sliders while learning to use tools you haven’t used used before, @papasmurf has all that is needed, tools and experience, to get this done. If you’d rather work OT at what you’re good at and pay someone else to do this for you, he’s down in Lakeside, NE of San Diego. May be a trek for you (I can’t remember where you are exactly), but lmk and I’ll come drink beers in the driveway, pass the time....

good to know! Also gives me an excuse to meet some of y’all.

I gotta place the order and I’ll figure it out. The covid stuff has really thrown off my scheduling and knowing where I’ll be.

on another note, SD has definitely been in the thoughts as a place to move to at the end of this year when my lease is up...

5 bolts each side through the frame and 5 bolts to drill each side. Use a tapered drill bit (i used 2, burnt the first one), cutting oil and goggles. Plenty of hot metal shavings.
WKOR also recommends a shop close by to have them install. up to you.

Waiting for SDHQ to respond to my message so I can go ahead and order some more protection!

also was working on it last night and noticed a major CV leak. Which is annoying because I literally picked it up Saturday afternoon from Toyota and have driven it 8 miles since. The leak was there and they did not tell me.

after spending 2200 and three days there you think they coulda done me that solid!

of course they won't...try to find your own mechanic..not a dealership.

SDHQ are nice too. They are a bigger shop so it might be in stock and save yourself few weeks of waiting.

Need the RCI transfer skid and was going to throw in the ABS guards just cuz why not!

Don't want to deal with bashing the transmission again. Also was interested in their sliders if they're in stock and ready to ship.

I just read what I could find. Shut back down nearly everything that was shut done back on April 1: gyms; haircuts; in-restaurant dining; all bars, inside and out; non-essential businesses and any whose employees can work from home.... <sigh>

I hate the closures. I've learned to wear a mask and will do it for months if everyone wearing one would mean we could otherwise go back to “normal”. I miss hanging out with friends and meeting new ones....

yeah im over it all, sorry but "if we shut down for 2 weeks" we should be good was aprils mantra... were mid July and masks and stay at home orders haven't done anything. Im of the opinion it doesn't matter at this point. And I'm just gonna keep living my best life... oh and #recallnewsome

it would be naive to believe 2 weeks with masks will solve the issue. imo we won't be back to normal until we have a vaccine that works. better be ready for the long haul unfortunately.

As usual, we all don’t have the same info on this C-19 so posting will lead to disagreement. :censored: It’s probably time to move our conversations about viruses and politicians off to real world, texts, or PM’s so we don’t get this thread cancelled....
