Hello guys, I have an odd question not seeing a thread on this topic. I'm trying to get new front bucket seat brackets made for my second gen tundra. I'm trying to lower the seating position by an inch to gain more head room and a better resting angle on the center console.

I contacted a local metal shop and they thought the project was not worth their time. If anyone has any advise on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I made my own. Not difficult. I tore apart the original seat frame and added some adapters to fit some PRP seats

What kinda adaptors did you use, is the seat the factory one and does it sit lower?

I'm 6'4 I'd like to lower the seat more too. And the seats kinda suck. Not as bad as a first gen Tacoma. But not really that great either.

If you are injured in an accident and try to make a medical claim they will deny you if they find out that any safety equipment in the vehicle was altered.

Thanks for info guys, I personally find the head room and visibility lacking compared to other trucks especially for the passenger seats. I never noticed when I bought my truck not sure if limited and platinum seats offer more comfort. Then the sr5 bucket cloth seats. Other then that I love the tundra.

What do you need to know? PRP will fully customize them for you. whatever color and material you want (no leather though). Takes a couple weeks to make em

Out of curiosity could you take a couple measurements from the sitting position up to the headliner? I want to see if it lowered the sitting postion. I got a quote for new seat brackets but the estimate was ridiculous high.

See those brackets I made in the picture I posted previously? Those were my second set of brackets. I changed the height because I didnt like the first set.

You can set the height however you want, just change the holes on the brackets

I think I see what your talking about the bracket where the slider and seat are connected to?

I was just on PRP website browsing, besides the diy mounting frame mounting brackets, what other things should be considered in regard to form factor fitment, also what is your comfort lvl experience assessment in the seats so far?

Depends on what year truck you have. The early trucks people complained about the side support. I have a 2013 and the factory seats are more comfortable than these. But my seat frame was cracked so I didn't have much choice

Overall they're comfortable. But I regret getting the vinyl. I'll probably switch to cloth

Thanks good to know. I got 07 DC and definitely looking at cloth option. I'm looking at sweat swaps as well. Maybe a new gen lexus seat swap

Those look nice, I'd like new seats too but hate the idea of loosing the power and airbag. I'm looking into changing the adapter plates for factory seat to gain more sitting head room

You could probably modify the lower mounts out as well and drill new mounting holes.
