I made mine for about $10.00. It doesn't interfere with the seat movement or leg room.

I have one on each side of the vehicle in the rear door cup holders. Fit is snug and out of the way.

Let me tell yall a story about a 25lb extinguisher going off inside the cab of a truck. It did. It made a mess. The end.

A cautionary tale and powdery lesson learned about transporting multiple extinguishers in the work truck without securing them properly.

I made something similar. Flat bar has tabs that go under the front seat mounts. holds it into place. I have holes drilled into the flat bar to bolt extinguisher to. Mag light under the other seat. Don't get in the way at all, although they could probably be mounted a little further back

Why exactly do you need a fire extiguisher in your vehicle? Is it specifically for vehicle fires? or for fires that might break out camping, shooting, etc?

Friend of mine coached a kid, good kid, no drugs/ alcohol. He hit a tree one night and couldn't get out burned to death.
@osidepunker and @papasmurf came across an elderly couple that had just hit a burro near Parker Az. The driver was still a little shocked/stunned and an electrical fire had started somewhere in the front end. Good Samaritans that they are, Alex and Bruce stopped, put out the fire and helped the couple out.
I put an extinguisher in front of the passenger seats of all our vehicles. Sadly the braketeer didn't work in my wife's Passat so I made all the seat brackets. I have a 2nd extinguisher mounted to the bed rail in the Tundra. Like @Hattori said, "rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it."

yeah I was on scene first. They were elderly and the burro did a number to the car. Smashed up the passenger side pretty bad. They were both disoriented. The husband got out of the car, but wife was initially trapped. I couldn't open the passenger door and being elderly she couldn't climb over to the other side. Fire started inside the passenger head light housing. At first I thought it would just go out due to lack of air. But in 30 sec, it seriously started flaming up. I grabbed my extinguisher (5lb dry chem from H3R, mounted on my bed rack) kicked a hole in the head light and stuck the nozzle in. I put the flame out, then went to the driver side and we were able to pull her out from that side. When bruce @papasmurf arrived, we found the head light on fire again. I think it was HID and the ballast was continually arcing. This time Bruce disconnected the battery then I sprayed it and it stayed extinguished.

First time in the 4 years I've had it mounted that I needed it. I wouldn't call that an extreme emergency, but I definitely felt better having it than not.

FYI I also carry a 2lb halon from H3R in the cab where I can reach it from the driver seat. Its mounted to one of my gear boxes.

I keep it there since it's easy to get to. I have a shell on my truck that is usually locked. whereas the cab, I can just open it with the remote. So if I'm outside the truck, I can get to the one under the front seat faster. If I drive up to a scene where there's a fire, I can get to it quicker. If I'm sitting at camp, whether it's in the front or in the back, it would be about same amount of time to retrieve, as the truck and shell would both be unlocked. However, for campfires, I keep a large jug of water nearby....or I piss out all the beer onto the hot coals before going to sleep...fastest and saves water

2nd the goldfire bracket mounted to the bedrail. It's rock solid, not going anywhere, but takes about 5 seconds to get it out. I like the cab mount in front of the seat, will definitely be adding one of those.

Does that bracket come with everything to mount to the bed rails or does it just slide in there?

And you'll need bolts. For my mount I had to drill and open up the bolt holes slightly.

Forgot to mention that! The t-slot nuts also come with bolts depending on which you buy. I think they are 3/8-16 if you want to go to your local HD/Lowes/Ace Hardware to buy them.
