so the shop Installed the 6 inch lift kit, wearing 20 x 35 rims / grappler tires. Second alignment shows true, yet truck pulls to the left and the distance of a football field.

Shop says links and joints are all good. What am I missing? Stabilizer shocks???

Is this when braking or just driving down the road?

Truck pulls to the left under normal driving, even when am in the far right lane.

Alignment shop blamed the aggressive tire threads.

If the alignment values look good it is possible that you have a radial pull. Try rotating the wheels/tires from left to right and see if the pull changes. Post up the alignment sheet and I'll be happy to look at the numbers.

The shop suggested the same to switch the fronts due to a radial pull. If pull changes does that means the tire is defective?

. I don't have the print out or I certainly would at this moment. Wil get from shop

Ugh, I'm in the same boat with my 6" lift and 35s except mine pulls to the right. 3 alignments, 2 different shops. Numbers look good, nothing bent. Rotating tires did not help. You aren't running toyo mt's by chance?

Which type of Grappler tires are you running? Mud terrains or A/Ts?

It does not necessarily mean that the tire is bad. Another option is to find a shop with a tire balancer that can perform straight track. This process measures the radial pull for each wheel/tire then on the balancer you can simulate different mounting positions for each wheel/tire to determine the best mounting location on the vehicle. Try to get the alignment sheet. As far as the alignment goes just because the numbers are green does not mean the vehicle will track straight. It all depends on cross camber and cross caster. I typically set up vehicles biased slightly left to counter road crown.

I will have to get the shop print out on Monday.

The initial balance was crap. The driver seat and steering wobbled hard at 40 mph. Went back and they rebalanced that made it worse. Shop had to call somewhere to get advice on how to balance - they flipped tires on the rim. Third go felt a lot better on balancing.

What is your left and right caster?

Do you have a more positive camber and more negative caster on the left?

Can you post your alignment spec sheet?

    Ok here is my dilemma.

The truck is pulling to the left and I have the \ / after the last alignment done at Southern.

The alignment at Wiygul (before Southern) had the truck driving pitch straight, but I had the ghastly \ / in tires looking from front about 15 ft off.

Also truck feels floaty when doing about 60 and rocking steering wheel back and forth. IMG_1204.jpgIMG_1205.jpg

Where is the hiccups? Don't want to burn up tires less than 500!miles new. The pill is to the left and will cross two lanes the length of a basket ball court.

Southern says the aluhment is correct and I prob have radial pull

    Help!!!!!

there is an alignment thread and discussion over on tundratalk.net:
    http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tu...spec-thread-w-links-shop-recommendations.html

in this post, the recommended alignment is:

    STOCK TRUCKS:
Camber: +.1 degree camber on both sides.
Caster: As much as possible without sacrificing +.1 degree camber or causing a cross caster pull.
Toe: +.12 degrees per side for a total toe of +.24 degrees. (some guys have had to drop toe to +.04 to +.5 per side/+.08 to +.10 total toe)

    LIFTED TRUCKS:
Same As Above ... BUT if you have wheels that have more negative offset than factory wheels, increase the camber to +.2 degrees. (or even +.3 degrees if they just can't get there with the amount of adjustment allowed by the eccentrics) Adjustable upper control arms are available for cases where there just isn't enough adjustment left in the eccentrics to get a decent alignment. Although they are expensive, most guys with lifts have a lot of $$$ invested in tires so you need to make a judgment call.

i recently had 5100's installed at 1.57" using 20x9 +50mm offset wheels and nitto ridge grapplers and the truck drives and steers perfectly:

So based on the alignment by Southern, and the tundratalk, am I in specs?

The Wiygul alignment was running straight, but the \ / was killing me.

    Any feedback appreciated

according to that thread, you do not have a proper alignment. your camber is way off and you should have more caster on the right side to compensate for road crown.

i am not sure about 6 inch lifts, but with 3 inch lifts, you usually need aftermarket UCA's to get a proper alignment. maybe someone can chime in about needing UCA's for 6 inch lifts...

I heard of the adjustable UCA before and started looking for one.... uncertain if actually needed for my 6inch lift

    Is it a must buy????

After your first alignment the vehicle drove straight but the right caster, should have cause a right pull. In theory caster will pull to the least positive. The second alignment was set up almost even left to right and now the hard left pull is occurring. This tells me you have a radial pull problem. You need to perform a tire rotation left to right to see if there is improvement. When I perform an alignment I like to set up camber as even as possible left to right and in spec. I like to set up caster with more on the right to compensate for road crown. The reason I compensate with caster and not camber is because camber can wear tires and caster typically will not.
