On the 18+ you can register the new ID’s with the button on the dash. I did it myself last week.

I thought about that and followed the process according to this post and the owner's manual but, for some reason, it is not working for me.:notsure:

The issue may be that you have the wrong sensors. Toyota changes the sensor part number for the 2020 models with smart key/push to start but a lot of the parts catalogs haven’t been updated with the new number for 2020

So, just went to the Autel support page and it seems the TS508 is compatible with Tundra 2020: (see below)

Nice truck. If you haven’t already, I’d also double check that the new sensors are compatible with the Tundra. They're not all compatible.

There ya go. Be sure that 315 MHz frequency is what your new sensors are throwing, too.

Do you have push button start? If you do your truck should be able to recognize the new TPMS sensors with the 3 push method in the manual. You MUST have the correct P/N TPMS Sensors. Check this Thread out, this guy was able to get his truck to recognize the new wheels and TPMS sensors after installing the correct TPMS Sensors. I had these sensors installed in my 2012 TRD Alloy Rims/Michelin ATX tires to run in winter. I have not done the swap and won't until Fall, but the thread I referenced and what the manual says for Tundras with PB start I have confidence that will work.

YES, it is a "push button". From what you say, It could very well be the part numbers then. I've tried different times the "three times push method" and cannot get after the "recalibrating..." message, which, after a while, turns into TPMS malfunction, take it to the dealer... message.
The weird thing is that the tools apparently can read them properly and I don't really know how to erase/reset the TPMS information form the module to restart all over.

Sorry, Here's the thread you need to reference and get the correct P/N and what happened to the OP.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/2019-tundra-tpms-good-surprise.69376/#post-1795246

Most likely wrong TPMS sensor. Be careful getting the correct one. I ordered some on EBay and they also sent the wrong ones (not the ones pictured on ebay). I have also heard that Toyota referenced the wrong P/N for the 2020 for a while. The thread I reference talks about this and once the correct P/Ns were used they worked with the 3 button pushes and light flashes on the 3rd.

Pay close attention if you order the 2020 Push Start/Smart Key TPMS sensors 42607-06030 from eBay. Another forum member and I both ordered that part number and received the wrong sensors. The boxes were labeled with 42607-06030 but were clearly fakes. The correct sensor will be marked PMV-C015 in the center of the sensor

Right... But still, the dealership should be able to register them, right?

Also, would you guys think that it could help if I swap the tires with tho OEM ones, get the TPMS corrected, then swap again and retry the registration codes process? (sounds like a lot of work but just asking for recommendations)

Swapping back to the original and doing the 3 button push registration procedure should put the Original wheel TPMS codes in in the system.

Just searched it, what you have installed as an Aligator 030187 sensor, which is most likely not compatible with the truck

WOW... :(... I really appreciate your help. I was not able to find anything related to that part number.

If the dealer cannot do anything with them, I guess I'll have them swap the OEM ones form the other set and I'll then get a new "fully compatible" set for the OEM wheels...

Check out tirerack.com or TPMS.com if you don't want to purchase them directly from the dealer.

You will be experimenting. I recall other posts of folks using different TPMS sensors and the System registered them but they did not work. You might get lucky or maybe not. Uncharted territory.

I agree, I'd stick with oem sensors. Once you have the correct ones installed it will be as simple as pressing the button on the dash and going for a short ride to re register them

Got it... I'll take the OEM tires with me to the dealership and see what happens from there. Probably (Re-thinking the issue), no time to "experiment" and no $$$ to waste (probably not worth it)... But still, I'll share the outcome... THANKS..!!!

OK... Think found the OEM ones according to the Toyota part number given (42607-0C091): this one has the same part number in the top right corner...

Those are the wrong ones for the 2020 Push Start/Smart Key. You want these 7912D9C7-BE12-48EF-9288-2D2C9C6F688A.jpg

I could be wrong but those don't look like the OEM. I don't see PMV-C015 on those and they don't look like the ones thomasbus shows. That's key from what I understand. Carefully read that other thread I linked. I don't think you want to go cheap and remove old sensors/install new/balance and find out out they don't work, that cost will add up and exceed any savings. Just fair warning.

The ones pictured by thomasbus work and are OEM, anything else might or might not work, but that's currently uncharted territory. This new feature that pushbutton start equipped (and possibly others?) Tundras have to push the TPMS sync button 3X until slow blink, to recognize other TPMS sensors on a different set of wheels is an awesome feature (that many even some dealers are not aware of which is not surprising). There have been many reported issues with wrong sensors not working. You've already been down that path. I'd kindly suggest following exactly what works at this time.

If someone comes up with a proven cloning or other knock off OEM sensor that works, then it might be worth trying. This is a very new feature for Tundras and not a lot of knowledge out there on this and lots of misunderstanding and misinformation. Thomasbus is the only reported success story and P/N that works.

Good luck and please let us know if you decide to try something different and it works.

I'll definitely keep you all posted. I believe I'll end up swapping the OEM TPMS sensors to make sure everything works as before buying any other sensor... Anyway, whatever I end up doing will be soon... THANKS...!!!

FYI, for my 2010 Tundra I had to use techstream to register my winter wheel set when I put them on entering all 4 TPMS IDs. Then same when I entered my summer set. I had to use the correct P/N TPMS sensors for my model year. There are a lease 1 or 2 additional P/N TPMS sensors if not more since my 2010 required for each respective year.

I've heard cloning cheaper TPMS sensors worked for the earlier TPMS sensors as long as they functioned as the OEM TPMS Sensors but never tried it. I could enter and probably save my 2010 TPMS IDs on my 2020 but they will not work as Ive heard. It has something to do with the ability of the new system to recognize which wheel and send the PSI for each location RF LF RR LR to the screen. Not having to use techstream to enter new TPMS sensor IDs (especially paying for it) 2X each year is a huge plus. But for that to happen you obviously have to be using TPMS sensors of the correct P/N that will function and also be recognized by the TPMS system.

My 2010 OEM TPMS sensors still worked fine and had sufficient charge when I traded it in last January. I'm not sure if the cheaper knock offs would last as long, maybe, but who knows.

    TB,
Curious, when you did the 3x button push to learn your new sensors did it learn and show psi for each individual wheel as well as ID location RF, LF, RR, LR on the screen?

Yes, after pushing the button the display showed -- for each location. Took it for a drive and after a few miles they all came up on the screen with location and pressure. I assume they are in the correct locations. I wrote the codes on the back of the rim so I could check in techstream to verify or I could air them down individually to check location.

I'll enjoy not having to use the techstream to change the Id's i just wish I would have figured this out before spending a huge chunk of money for the Mongoose cable to work with the 2018+ trucks

OK People.... this is the latest.... (with pictures)...

Swapped the OEM sensors to the new rims. The OEM ones that were installed were exactly the ones mentioned by (Correction-Thomasbus337)rebmo (PMV-C015 :thumbsup::thumbsup:, the picture below)...

    IMG_20200712_114600.jpg

And (of course) after swapping, everything came back to normal.

The ones that came on the new set of wheels were the alligator ones (part # YMY030187 made by Alligator Ventilfabrik) which do not seem to be compatible with the Tundras 2020.

So, even though this different shop tried again to relearn before swapping, they were not successful.

We are ALL GOOD now. I did notice that the "low pressure" signal triggers when tire pressure is at or below 33. Other than that, we are good...!!!

I'll get a new set of TPMS sensors PMV-C015 and get them installed in the OEM rims.

Below are the most recent pictures after solving the problem.
