I would not waste the time taking bumpers off. Just make sure whatever area you spray that you tape off kind of like you do with spray paint. You don’t want overspray on the rest of the truck.

That’s the plan. I’ll try to take out the fogs and the sensors. If I decide to do the grill I’ll take that off though.

Yea, grill I would take off - and it’s easy to do so.
I just taped up the fogs.

I want to update my response here. The plasti dip was applied in October last year. It has held up very well on all 4 corners. I finally found where the front passenger corner had worn through after 6 months. I don’t know if it was from rocks or maybe parking against shrubs. I decided to try to touch up the damage.

I masked the surrounding area and fog light and cleaned the area with ONR and a microfiber towel. I sprayed 3 medium coats, feathering the color on around the edges of my target area. Followed that with 2 coats of glossifier. It turned out pretty well, but getting it perfect again will require a peel and full respray.

    I can update too!
My tires stick out of my fenders a good amount. The plastidip on my rear bumper where rocks fling up - is taking a hit. I can see areas of chrome.
I want the bumper covers ASAP.

My driveway is 1/8-1/4 mile long gravel and every morning the kids want me to blast up it full throtttle (which I’m happy to do) so my results might be different than others - but if you’re on gravel daily expect some chips.

That looks phenomenal. Do you happen to know the exact powder the shop used? From the local powder guys I've talked to in my area, they all give me the "oh we can't do a match, we wouldn't even be able to get close blah blah blah" story.

    Any additional pictures?

I’m not sure. He had a whole wall of bottles powder coated and we walked outside in the sun and picked the closest match. The shop is called bonehead performance in warminster pa. Outside of philly.

This is the before. Not a chrome guy. Only thing left is the door handles and badges.

The face lift looks really nice.

Ever think about paint matching the HH bar of the pro grill insert but leave the mesh section black? Also the center of the bumper valance but leave the surrounding section black. I wonder how the limited grill would look paint matched.

Just wondering how these were holding up? I’m local to the area (Abington) and am torn between line x and powder coating. Did you do just the fronts? Did they paint in place or did you just give them the bumper caps? Did it cost you an arm and a leg?

Anyone use selenite gray plasti dip for a match to MGM? Or is the anthracite gray a better match??
