Not in my case. I put the TRD Pro grille on my 2018 SR5 TRD with TSS. I removed the sensor from the old grill and placed in the intended mount on the Pro Grille. It works like a charm. I also used the Toyota sensor cover. No error codes or lights. The OP's situation is unique.

How was the install on those white bumper caps? Pretty easy?

They got it working! The tech told me that if you don’t use the relocation bracket you gotta recalibrate it when you switch to the TRD grille. Everything works fine now including the auto braking. They mentioned the AJT designs bracket and I’d looked at that. I couldn’t saved myself $500 had I purchased that but it had a bunch of disclaimers. Well basically if you decide to do it get the relocation bracket. Then you can skip the recalibration. Otherwise you’re gonna pay for a recalibration. I bit the bullet but it’s all working now. I’m relieved it’s finally taken care of. Now on to my Alpine monitor/receiver.

$285 plus tax. They charge 2 hours labor. Wasn’t cheap but I was so tired of dealing with it. And the dealership in my home town couldn’t calibrate it. They charged me anyway. The Toyota dealership that did calibrate it told me if they couldn’t they wouldn’t charge me but the tech had no doubt he could. I’m now fighting with the other dealership to get my money back for them doing nothing and in fact trying to charge me an additional $720 plus tax to “fix it”.

I can’t believe they charged you for doing nothing. That’s terrible customer service. I hope you get your money back and never go to that dealer again!

I’m gonna get shitty if I don’t. The tech was pretty arrogant when I tried to talk to him. I’ve swallowed mode than my share of pride in my day as a pharmacist we all eat crow every now and again. Just say well I learned something, give me my money back and move on. It’s pretty simple.

Man I’m sorry. I had to work today and I drove an hour each way to get my truck. I just got off at 9. I’ll send you one. That’s my truck but it’s more blacked out now. The mirrors are black and the bumpers as well. I’m waiting for the stereo shop to get me in to put in my new deck. My dad gets home from North Carolina next week and we’re gonna put my AJT designs chrome delete kit on the interior. I have a couple voodoo blue accents (starter button ring, the shift gate, and the steering wheel emblem) rest is black.

Nicely done! That grille was worth the 1500$ you dropped. Looks like “Good Times” are near.

I’ll send you some pics of it this weekend. I only live a few minutes from work so my wife drops me off when I work 11-9. No parking then and I don’t want door dings plus she stays home so she doesn’t mind. I’ll get it out this weekend and take some pictures of the finished exterior. I’ve already put the speakers, two subs and a 5-channel JL audio amp. The guys doing it for me hooked. I was already kinda hooked as my home theater is pretty sick. I’ve got Polk Audios LSIM series. BTW if anyone is interested slick deals has them quite often for a fraction of the price. I know this is a Tundra forum but I bought a nearly $9000 set of speakers for $3400 shipped. So they knew I could be sold on the higher end system pretty easy. I’m keeping this truck for a long time. So I don’t think I’ll regret it. Sorry for the novel.

Man thinking I spent $1500 on that grille. Damn. If the other dealer gives me a refund I’ll be around $1275. They’d better too we’re gonna rumble if they don’t.

You mentioned a dealership in Wichita. As in Kansas? Just curious as I grew up in Wichita. Anyway that's a really great looking truck you have there. That grill really adds detail to it. Looking forward to more updates and to see the Alpine setup.

Incorrect. The relocation bracket is only used if you are using the older 2017 Pro grille. OP is using a 2019+ grille which has the factory relocation. This bracket would do zero good for his previous issue, as illustrated by the fact that a tech was able to recalibrate it. Just putting this post in so no one else with a 2019+ Pro Grille thinks they need an aftermarket relocation bracket.

They did tell me that I could use a relocation bracket but I’m not 100% sure on that. They had no problem getting it to recalibrate. The sensor, I believe, is a couple inches lower with the 2019+ TRD Pro grille from what I understand. So they make a “different” sensor although I’m wondering if the difference is all in the wiring and the clips to secure it to the grille. Seemed like I could only get two of three in but the sensor fits exactly the same into the spot on the TRD Pro grille. Just requires calibration unless you have a 2 inch lift from what they told me.

That Voodoo Blue truck looks awesome. I pick up my Voodoo Blue Limited tomorrow and have already ordered the parts to swap out the chrome. They are painting the front bumpers caps to match the truck. Ive got to install the parts though. Im going to ask them about the recalibration of the sensor

My bumpers are actually all black as are my door handles. I’ve got new mirrors in black and voodoo blue I’m not sure which I’m gonna use yet. And if you have the TRD Pro grille they should be able to do it. If not have them call Eddy’s Toyota in Wichita, Ks. I’ll post some more pics of my truck tomorrow. I’m putting my STILLEN cold air on this Sunday too.

They definitely were incorrect. No relocation bracket needed on the 2019+ TRD Pro Grille. I'm not sure why yours required recalibration. I did the same swap on my 2018 and it was plug 'n play. I can understand why you are frustrated.

Yeah I almost went with the voodoo blue bumper caps but I thought all black on the bumpers looked better. My Pro Grille came with the hood bulge. I’ve effectively deleted all the chrome off the outside of my truck. I bought the AJT designs kit for the interior. Just waiting on my dad to help me with that. It’s a little more than I am willing to take on alone. I don’t like like messing with electrical. I’ll post a couple pics of mine today after I take it to the car wash. I drove home from Wichita Thursday and drove through, what seemed like, bug hell. Lol

So I ordered black ABS door handle covers to covrr my chrome Tundra Limited handles. Im worried that the door locking sensor will not work with the covers on. Do you have covers, a wrap, or did you swap out the handles themselves?

    In the process of de-chroming....
I did this exact same swap and had the exact same issue. I think my problem was I should have disconnected the battery when I unplugged the sensor when I did the initial swap. I swapped back to my stock grille and the PCS light stayed on. I put the Pro one back on without the Chinese sensor cover, same PCS light. Hooked up Techstream V15 and reset the PCS system. Tada no more light, everything works like it should using the Chinese sensor cover. I think disconnecting the battery must be done before disconnecting the sensor on this swap.
