My check engine light will come on periodically and my Bullydog tuner says it's a P0607 code "control module performance". Truck doesn't seem to run any differently as far as I can tell. Just had it in the shop for different reasons and forgot to mention it to them (dammit). Thoughts? I have no idea what this code means. Much appreciated!

If you reprogrammed with the bully dog, that last bullet might be your issue. Maybe something wrong with the programming.

    P0607 code definition

The P0607 trouble code marks a performance problem with the control module. This code is often related to the P0602, P0603, P0604, P0605, and P0606 trouble codes.

    What the P0607 code means
P0607 is the standard OBD-II trouble code for an issue with the engine control module (ECM). The code suggests that the ECM is experiencing problems, such as power failure or memory loss, and thus may not be able to do its job properly.

    What causes the P0607 code?
The control module performance trouble code can have multiple causes:

    • ECM is faulty due to physical damage, the presence of water in the ECM, or corrosion
    • Electronics in the ECM are faulting
    • The ECM wire harness is misrouted
    • Vehicle’s battery is dead or dying
    • Battery cables are loose, unhooked, or corroded
    • Vehicle’s alternator is malfunctioning
    • ECM has been improperly reprogrammed, or has not had the software updated

No, haven't taken it to my mechanics yet. Sounds like I may have moisture in the ECM because it only throws the code when it's raining. I'll probably take it to the shop next week. I'll keep you posted.

Wondering if anyone got to the bottom of their P0607 codes. I had this pop-up yesterday out of nowhere. I don’t have any other codes so, I think it rules out O2 sensors. I reset the code a couple of times but, it comes back after idling for a minute.

Did any of you guys have to replace the ECM? I recently got this code alongside P0894 (transmission component slipping) and 02 sensors after a bad snowstorm. wondering if its moisture or not.

Mine had to be replaced. It looked like someone had tried to steal my cats and used a sawzall on the O2 sensor wiring. I replaced the O2 sensors on the passenger side but, that never corrected my issue. My guess is that the frayed wires on the O2 sensor shorted the ECM since there is no fuse between the O2 sensor wiring and the ECM.
