What brand did you go with and how often do you need to apply? Thank you.

STP Moly-b in the tub. 2 tubs needed. Once applied its on for life. I also do spray PB Blast Penetrating on the entire chassis about every six months to get into all the frame over laps/cracks/etc.

Scored on an OEM Toyota muffler in brand new condition that has been in storage for 15 years.

Picked it up for $150 and prepped/painted it with black high temp ceramic BBQ paint.

I need to pull my exhaust some time and do that. A lot of my daily driving is just a couple miles and I think that allows a lot of moisture to build up in the exhaust.

I’ll post up pics of the old one once its pulled off. It developed a hole in the side wall. Not sure why in the side wall versus the bottom, but I’d like to find out. Looks like the rust started from inside.

Attacked the muffler today after finishing off a Fleet Car Repair.

The muffler was on her way out boys. Glad its replaced and whoever recco’d replacing the clamp/bolt, and gasket with new OEM ones gets credit as the old were unusable. Pretty straight forward job that took about an hour. Sounds just like the day it drove off the lot. The old one wasn’t loud at all, but this new one is very quiet. Stoked!

Spent about 6 hours installing all 4 o2 Sensors with DENSO brand. I used every hand move in the professional world and then some secret jives that made me Top Dog in the industry.

Might make a comeback like Mike Tyson after shaking off the dust today.

Ran the truck afterward kinda hard and the exhaust smells different. Like its just a clean steam smell. The truck isn’t faster, but the pedal/engine feels slightly more responsive.

Big difference in the design of both of the removed aftermarket front sensors installed by others about 6-8 years ago. The rears were Toy OEM’s aged who knows how long?

Used an Oscillation Tool with a carbide blade to score a line in the nuts. Then punched the line with a chisel to bust off the nuts. Takes some hand coordination to not cut into the stud.

Changed the o2 Sensors today. Want to recco this o2 Thread Chaser. You loaded it up with anti seize and run it in the hole. You can hear the crunchies getting worked out and trapped in the slots. See pics.

Here is a glimpse of the slot punch technique. Check out that precision cut that allows the nut to fold off when punched.

Update on the Leaky Wheel Bearing: Stealer replaced the seal and repressed a new retainer ring on the axle. They installed new Toyota Shoes in lieu of the oil soaked ones. No charge. We shall see if they got it right this 3rd time.

Today: Cleaned up the Throttle Body and installed the new cut Throttle Bracket. So much easier to access the PCV Valve now. Painted up the Brass Throttle Cover Nuts with some left over Metallic Wheel Paint to match the scheme.

Also, closed the chapter on the Horns fail due to the delivered Used Horn not working. My dream of scaring neigborhood kids that ride bikes on my lawn with my super loud horn is not going to happen now. Cleaned up my originals Horns and painted them flat black again to reduce their site through the Grille.

Pulled the ABS Sensor plug on the pass side rear axle. Discovered some diff oil and metallic residue on the Sensor. Will be attempting a Seal replacement on this axle soon.

So far so good on the 3rd Stealership repair on the driver rear. I’ll be inspecting that side again soon with close to 1k miles on the repair.

Katanas Headlights Update: Pass Side bulb failure on Low Beam Inboard Diodes at 14 months. I’ve disabled the DTR Lights and am currently assessing which route to take for the future lighting.

Sure was because it only cost me about $200 for all of the Sensors and I did all the sweat work. The two rear o2 gaskets were failing. The rears looked original. They also were different part numbers and I’m still trying to figure that out. The fronts were 6ish years old Bosch and were my 3rd set of Sensors up there since new. Remember the during the recall they installed a new set in mid 2000’s.

I put a multimeter on all of the old ones. The fronts read similar and the rears were divergent. Didn’t test the new ones before install so not sure how to compare data. Really wish I had a nice OBD scanner to read fuel trims. My city mileage seems a little better than normal, but thats subjective.

Installed New Katanas Bulbs to replace the Originals after 14 months. Disconnected the DRL Connector to make these bulbs last longer. I’ve always like the day running lights for safety, but noticed since disconnecting that people don’t pull out in front of the truck as much as with the lights on.

Also, adding here a few ‘mods’ I did in the past that may have not been showcased earlier in this thread.

    1) New lights. 2) Piezo dampening. 3) Throttle Cable Zip Tie Snugs.

Added another OEM Recovery Tow Hook to the Drivers Side Front. This was purchased used along with the original bolts. Just remove the shorter tow hook bolts and use the longer bolts to install the New Recovery Hook just like the OEM Passenger Side.

@Blueranger501 check out my findings just discovered yesterday.

Perused the FSM Manual today and found some reference material on testing the o2 Sensors recently replaced. The old readings are as follows in the pic. The original? rears had ZERO resistance. The (6 years newer) Bosch fronts both read 9.1, which leads me to think they aren’t the proper build for our trucks but still fit/work?

FYI: No CEL were on. I just replaced all 4 because I wanted to. Well I had a theory and proved it?
Not sure how to test these hot without scalding my sensitive skin.

Truck Engine is reacting SUPER nice and as good or better than when new and the City MPG has improved 1MPG. Highway is unchanged.

Oilless Axle Seal Change out. Removed rear sway link and jacked that side up to save the recently changed Diff Oil and build carbon credits for WurrldPeas.

The Old Axle Seal did not have the little coil spring on the backside like the New Toyota one has. It also looked wallowed when overlaid with the new one which is tighter in diameter. Think the bearing looks rust and musty from some of the change outs you guys have done, but its not making noise currently so its staying until it does so. It has slightly play when wiggling the Axle, but when its mounted its solid. No play at the wheel.
No oil was in rear brake assy which means I caught it in time.

The Driver side Stealer repair is confirmed not leaking. Chapter closes on that side. I’ll recheck this Pass side repair in about 1k miles.

Job took about 2.5 hours total.

She is in spec at 90° ambient with the engine bay at operating temp. Cleaned up the resistor and applied Electrical Grease. Tightened that top screw as well.

Operation Revenge of the Zzzzzzzttttt!!! Success!

Remember I made a rare hand model slip with the foil tape and sizzzzllled my Map Light Switch (pass side switch). That then gave me an idea to do the ‘Jumper Mod’ so one push lit up both lights. @theblurry1 sent me a New Map Light about 6 months ago that he scored at a junkyard. Today, I removed the Light Assy Portion out of his and installed it in mine. Now, the pass side switch works along with the drivers side. You can push either side and both lights come on.

Also, I removed the metal Lens Covers way back in another mod. Lets out more light instead of just through the little magnifier. These pictured ones are gnarly yellow compared to the ones already on my Assy. and are for information use. Not sure if I put this mod in my Build Page as I lost many pics in a device change over. See pics.

Yeah boys. Took her out on some rough roads under construction nearby for the door clatter test. Even hit a familiar parking with speed bumps and the doors shims are working perfectly. No clatter at the bottom jamb and sill when hitting decent bumps like before. HIGHLY RECCO!!! cheap!

I added a little of the Gorilla Double Sided Tape for some padding on the sill side of the shim and left the peel n stick plastic on. Fully dialed.

You have a picture of your hands? Or would that break some kind of work contract to be out flashing those babies around Willy nilly?

There is one floating around on this forum somewhere. Its a teaser shot. Anyways, I keep these hand protected at all times unless on the runway. I did meet my match at a party the other day where one of the guests had nicer hands than me. He modeled some wine bottles and actually had a great pour technique.
