My year old hood bulge seems to be deforming In hot sun. When it cools down it goes back to normal looking. Anyone else notice this? @Roman do hood bulges have a warranty?

I’d take it to the dealer when it’s hot if it’s under warranty

It should be covered under warranty. Not the first time I've seen this happen, though.

Do hood bulges have a purpose... can they be deleted?

Probably because you're 5000 feet closer to the sun than we are. :D I need to see if mine is doing this. It's suppose to be 104 over the next 3 days here in Texas.

Technically, they don't serve a purpose other than looks and to cover a hole in the front of the hood. I guess you could take it off if you want. I personally wouldn't recommend it.

I noticed mine doing this last weekend. The next morning it was back to normal.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Chrome bulges, hate 'em if you must, hide the slight skew and overall look better up close...the 20ft rule changes when you're gazing at color tho...

I guess it’s a design flaw if the painted hood bulge. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I saw this with the MGM replacement I installed about 6 months ago. I loosened the two outside bolts that hold it in, pushed in the bulge as far as I could, and tightened them again while continuing to apply pressure to the bulge. Seemed to do the trick and my truck gets a lot of CO sun.
