I have a 2016 Crewmax Limited. I bought it a couple months ago and I'm very happy with this truck. I upgraded from an 07 Tacoma. I just realized that there is some rust on the mounting brackets for the rear seats. Has anyone seen this or know if its normal at all? Its not very bad but I thought with it only being 4 years old I shouldn't see any problems like this. No rust under the front seats. Thanks

Haven't done that yet. I'm hoping I didn't buy a flooded truck. It originally came from an area in NC where that has happened. I didn't know that until after I bought it. That's worst case scenario though and chances are didn't happen that way but not sure I'll ever know.

I'd pull the rear seats and look under the carpet. That looks like surface rust. Sand it and get Rust-Oleum sprayed on it so it'll stop.

Yup. Someone spilled a drink or a wet dog laying on the floor.

I noticed rust in my dad's '14 SR5 this weekend. His truck has never seen water and he wouldn't dream of allowing someone to have a drink in his truck.

My truck has the same rust on mine but I have never spilled anything.

Thanks for the input. I'll probably keep an eye on it and go the Rustoleum route eventually. Let me know if anyone does something different to solve the issue.

I don’t know if this is common or not

My 08 sequoia and 07 CrewMAX have the same thing on the rear seat rails.
