Maybe this is old news, and I m kicking a dead horse, but I ran across this video, and can verify it applies to my 2007 dc. (So far. I still have to reinstall seat for final verification.)

I have my passenger seat removed atm, so I can lay down sound deadener. That being the case I thought I would check it to see if I can remove this spring he s talking about. The place to depress to release the mechanism is on the underside of bracket. I ended up removing the whole bracket, so I could access it more easily. It could probably be done without removing seat but would take some finesse. With the seat removed the plastic trim covering the side of the seat is simple to remove. Just pull the front end of trim straight out, and it releases the hook holding it to seat.

Once exposed I removed the nut holding bracked to reveil the hole for removing mechanism. The circled section of mechanism is what will slide out

You ll notice the hole on underside which is holding the mechanism.

A simple press, and pull on the mechanism will expose the spring.

Now it s just a matter of removing spring.

I just taped the spring to the seatbelt bracket so I would nt loose it, or forget where I put it. Obviously I haven t tried to see if it works. I will find out in a few days when I re install seat, but I m betting this disabled sensor chime.

They sell a gadget that looks like the end of a seatbelt. You plug it into the lock end of the seat belt anchor point, and the chime goes away. Much simpler than taking the whole seat apart, and if you want it to work as normal, just remove it.
