And when you say “we get over pretty easily” are you referring to the rest of us? Or the LT BASTRD crew:monocle:

We were all MT when we last ran this trail. Honestly, I don’t remember getting over pretty easily. I just remember it wasn’t really really hard.

Trip is set for Sunday 7/19. Plan on getting to Bald Mtn. by 10am. I'll make a new trip thread early next week with exact times and meet points. We already have too many trucks so I'm going to cap it here with the people who replied and the bastrds that told me they're going.

I wasn't on the run that @joonbug posted videos of, but we went there another time and most of us were on 34-35" tires and 2-3" of lift. Dragging the hitch is real.
I found this cool picture of @InfernoPRO

Anyone use one of those hitch skids like the one Total Chaos makes? Seems like a decent investment for something like this

hahaha, literally what I was thinking as well when looking at these contraptions, but also figured TC makes a legit product and didn’t see them making it without weighing the pros and cons of having it installed while off-roading .. but I am gonna take that as a no..:anonymous:

I'm sure it works great in mall parking lots, but our departure angle already sucks enough.

Ordered all the skids for the FJ but I don't think they will make it for this trip but should definitely be here for the BIG BEAR trip

Skids aren’t that important for Bald. Most of the technical spots are broad boulder type. No pointy rocks stabbing up into your insides. :p what’s the Big Bear trip?

Don’t watch the videos and psych yourself out. Your truck is ready and there will be spotting on the tougher sections.
