Those are your daytime running lights. If you look at the back of the headlight, you can see where it snaps into the headlight. Yours may be burnt out or unplugged if they aren’t working.

Thanks. That makes perfect sense if they were lit. I don't have a switch / mark on the stalk for DTRLs. I assume that means they are on all the time until I switch on the running lights or headlights? I'll check the bulbs.

Few more orders going out tomorrow!

2000-2004 AC chrome with halo build. Came out extremely well and the halo reflection is awesome!

A 2000-2004 AC matte black halo build. These are my favorite build to do. The matte black looks so clean and the halo really stands out when its powered.

These look awesome. What did you do for the corner lenses? Are they a smoked version or did you find some with a matte finish? I'm gonna have to add these to my list of gotta haves.

What bulb / ballast are you using? The set I got from HID Retrofit (wish I saw you first) doesn’t seem nearly as bright.

Damn! These look so good. Just picked up my new to me 2001 Tundra AC 4x4 and the stock headlight output is less than desired. The headlights themselves are clear of haze but damn these would look so good. If I ordered one would I be send you my headlights or how would this work?

Edit: I just ordered some katana leds which were from another thread I saw but I’m thinking maybe returning them and just go this route and be done with it.

@SouthPaw looks like there are quite a few interested parties in your custom headlights! I know I would like to buy a black housing set with projector (no halo or Audi turn). Can I run LED in the projectors or HID only? (Don’t like the heat or possibility of ballast failure associated with HID) I Will PM you when I have some funds...

Ok sorry for the delay everyone. If you didn't know already, I do these as a hobby in my spare time which I haven't had a whole lot of lately. I do make some money on them (I am not a charity ) but I do enjoy building these. I did have 3-4 orders come in all in the same week and my work/personal life got busy so they took a little longer than expected. I will also be re-writing my order sheet to clarify on some FAQ.

For corner lenses, it depends on the year/model of the truck. Some companies offer a 'smoked' set of corner lenses that look pretty good once I paint the headlights. It's what I use on my personal truck. See below:

So with my orders, I do not include the HID kit for a couple of reasons. One, it is an electronic part that would be hard to warranty for the consumer. Two, some people want to spend $160+ for a morimoto kit and some people (like myself) only want to spend $40 on an Amazon kit. I personally think on older vehicles, the cheaper kits work great. I have been using HID kits since 2009-ish and almost always used the cheap kits. There was one truck that I owned (2015 Silverado 1500) that required a morimoto kit. Other than that, I have run the cheapie kits, even in my current 2016 2500HD Duramax.

Thank you! So I provide new, aftermarket housings with your order. The only thing you will be getting is your own HID kit. With adding HID/LED to your stock housings, you will definitely see an improvement. You will also be scattering light everywhere because your stock headlights rely on reflection and your LED will obviously be brighter than halogen bulbs. It would be a good idea to re-aim your headlights to limit how much you are shining to oncoming traffic. I used to run HID's in all my vehicles/stock housings until I started messing with retro fits. I don't think I will go back. Hard to beat that cutoff line.

H1 is the size of bulb so unless you have a retro fit with an H1 projector, you don't have an H1 bulb.

You can still use an HID kit but it would be an H4 bulb. Send the link of the kit you bought and that might help answer some of your questions.

Which Amazon kit are you using? Also, do you have a preference between D2S and H1?

Xtreme vision is the brand I have been using.

Only H1 will fit in the retro fits I do. D2S is a different size of bulb.

Well all things good things must come to an end, or least warrant some change right? I recently built a set of headlights for a kid, maybe 16-17yo to the specs he requested. I sent him pics and a video of them being bench tested so he knew it was all working. He even sent me a picture when they arrived commenting how good they looked. He had a very difficult time installing them and I started to wonder how it was going to pan out. He eventually got them in and sent me pictures of them installed as well as a video of them working. Five days after he installed them, he messages me saying "hey, I couldn't get your headlights to work so I want a refund." I asked him what part he couldn't get to work because he had sent videos/pictures of them working and he wouldn't answer, just said he wants a refund. I told him they are custom made and really not returnable but I would do what I could to help him. I offered him to return them and if found defective, a 100% refund (including shipping) would be sent, return them and if not defective, a 20% restocking fee would apply (return shipping not refunded) or sell them locally and I will make up the difference. I thought I was being pretty fair but instead, he blocks me and started a claim with PayPal. It was originally supposed to be decided on 07/27, then 08/03, now it is saying 08/08. My account has been put on hold in the mean time keeping me from using it on anything (including new orders). Good thing, I have screen shots of all of this so hopefully it works out.

The crappy part is I have eight hours of my time/labor into these lights. PayPal says depending on how the case is settled, they may not be able to recover the product if it is decided in the buyers favor and I will be out the cost, time and headlights. This has made me rethink if I want to continue this service or not. I know they say don't throw the baby out with the bath water but this was unexpected. This lead me to re-write my disclaimer/FAQ and order sheet in a manner that it probably scared off some new potential buyers that messaged me. It also made me re-think the forms of payment I want to accept so I am caught in something like this again but, it would not offer the buyer any protection.

I want to apologize to those who inquired about headlights during this and my delayed responses. I obviously do this on the side in my spare time (which has been limited lately) but I was also dragging my feet on whether or not I wanted to keep doing this. I am not setup like Wal-Mart to accept returns, nor do I want anyone to be unhappy with what they paid for. At this point, I guess I will see how the case is decided and go from there. I wanted to be transparent as to what was going on because anyone who have purchased from me in the past, seem to be happy with their product. If they weren't I did what ever was necessary to make it whole. I've enjoyed making these and hearing people's reviews but maybe it is time to hang it up.

Huge bummer. I'm sorry that this guy wasn't mature enough to accept a "loss."

Maybe he thought you were like Amazon. As others have said they will sometimes refund the money, and tell you to keep the product as its not worth their time to sell a "used/opened" product.

I was hoping in the future I could get a set from you. Just when I'm ready.

If I quoted you some, I am still 100% committed to what I told you. At the end of the day, my word/integrity is worth more than a set of headlights so I won't let stop me from something I already committed to. Just let me know!

I never got around to getting a quote from you. I have been following this awesome build, and service from almost the beginning.

I just wasn't ready to get a quote yet. Unfortunate, on my end.

I agree that your personal integrity is worth more than this.

I am stoked to receive mine, looks like tomorrow is the estimated delivery. Your communication with me about everything has been above and beyond what I have experienced elsewhere in the tundra mod world. I hope the case works out in your favor.

Dude, this kid is obviously immature and hopefully not a regular on this forum (if so, turd should be banned). I suggest only dealing with people you can vet On here, IE they are active contributors (not single post members asking what 4Runner wheels will fit never to post on here again). Adults would not do you like this Gen Z flip flopper who probably bit off more than he could chew and needed the money. What kind of teenager has $300+ to spend on headlights anyway? Southpaw, we are sorry he did you like this and hope you will still work with the active forum participants that form this great community. Don’t let this fly in your drink cause you to toss the entire beverage. We stand with you! I bet there are 99% of your former customers who are beyond satisfied with the product you produced for them. If I were not dropping lots on a new suspension, I would surely be a customer.

Appreciate all the good words fellas. To my knowledge, he is not a member here. He found me on FB after someone else recommended him to me. I think if I do continue them, I will be selective of who I make them for. Last week, I received about 5-6 PM's from members who I believe only signed up to contact me. I have no issues with that but I made it very clear on what to expect from me and what they will be expected to do once their orders have been completed.
