Something must be wrong with my head unit. I bought another Carlink thing and I still get the blue outline. I then paired it up with my wife’s iPhone 11 and her phone does the same thing. I’m using an 11 Pro. Irritated at this whole thing, especially given all you guys confirm you don’t have the same problem.

Although, I get the same thing in my wife’s Jeep, which makes this more unclear.

This is what I am getting if I turn the truck on and it boots to the ‘dashboard’.

I will see if I have that blue ring. To be honest it is not something I would notice or let bother me. Are you should it should not be there and what problem does it cause?

Same here, I wouldn’t let it bother you. I will also check mine this weekend to see if I’m getting same thing.

I don’t think it’s supposed to be there because it’s not there when I plug in wired. To me it looks like something that would be there for a vehicle with a ‘knob’ for controlling items on the infotainment center (like a BMW for example). It looks like it’s highlighting what you could select with the knob.

It’s not causing a problem per se, just feels like it’s ‘off’ to me so it’s bothering me. But I could probably let it go haha.

Thanks for checking on it for me though! I’m curious to know if I am alone in this.

I've noticed that when I get a call, the red button to hang up has a similar blue outline. It doesn't really bother me though.

Ok no blue outline on mine. I even tried selecting things to get it but nope. I’m using the CPlay2Air adaptor in my truck. Just noticed my clock is red and yours is not.

Is this right after you've started the truck and not touched anything? Basically touching the screen makes the blue line go away, but if you just start it up cold...for me, there's the blue line.
Thanks for checking by the way.
Oh, and your clock is red because you are using the camera. I don't know why that is, but I've found that to be the reason.

Mine started in the other view with all the buttons so yes I had to touch the screen to get that view. I think you should let the blue line go and just enjoy having wireless carplay.

I wish they had radio knobs for the 2020. Once they do I will be getting those. For now I just painted mine flat black one the front silver ring.

So I thought I would give the upgrade another try and it said I was up to date with the latest software and that version is 2020.03.18.1455. Did a check for updates and came back with the same.Everything works so I guess why mess with it.

Ok this morning my radio started in this view and it had the blue line around the map. It did not bother me and I will not lose any sleep over it. Goes away the second you do anything with the radio.

To add to this...it seems my car2play experiences the hiccup in sound in the exact same location every morning. I have full bars on phone but 100% of the time when I approach a particular area on the highway it starts cutting out. Originally, I thought it was time-dependent but the last few weeks I've been doing things before work and so I was way past the usual 15 mins in the truck it normally takes to get to this spot and regardless of the time it happens every time I drive through this area. Radio signal interference? Poor shielding? I don't know?

Thanks for mentioning this. I am on the fence about this adapter because of these little hiccups. I am hoping that a few software updates will make it flawless.

It sounds like it may be the phone, not the device. Do you have bluetooth earbuds or a bluetooth speaker that you can connect to and listen as you drive through this area a few times? It may actually be the bluetooth signal that is being interrupted or interfered with.

The hiccups are very small and not something to stop me from using it. The only real issue I have had in the couple weeks I have been using it is that 1 or 2 times it failed to auto connect and I just had to click on the connection screen and select my phone. I have not had any of the sound issues. My other wireless carplay in another car was much worse. I think you will be waiting a long time to get something any better.

What I have read is that some people need to disconnect the wireless carplay from the usb dongle to reset at times. My dongle is under the carpet in front of the center console with a lightning cable attached and coming out of the console. I dont want to have to dig in there. I guess i could get an extender...

If you are using wireless what is the lightning cable used for? Are you charging from that?
If you have to unplug it to reset it cant you just unplug it from the connection at the dash? This is something I have not had to do with mine. I have mine mounted under the center console cover as shown in this thread earlier.

Mine is not wireless. My HU has a usb out the rear that I have going under the carpet where it plugs into a lightning cable that I plug in my phone to get carplay.

Ok so not the stock HU. In my old car I had an aftermarket HU and used a wireless adapter and never had to unplug it to restart it.
I would recommend if you get one that you rewire so it is in a place under the dash so you could unplug it if needed. Other than that I cannot offer much more help. I do like the wireless setup and will not go back. I just hop in my truck start it and I'm ready to go by the time I'm backing out of my garage. I really hate plugging in and disconnecting a phone every time I get in and out of the car. This is why I have a wireless charger too.
