Good morning. I’m looking to purchase a Heartland North Trail 27RBDS. Dry weight 6354/hitch 572/GVWR 7400. My truck is a 2019 1794 4x4. I’m alittle worried about the tongue weight but feel like if I don’t pack a bunch of stuff in the truck I will be ok. I tow a bass boat regularly and it tows this great. I understand this is quite a bit heavier lol. Dealer throwing in a WDH with purchase. Live in South Texas and it’s mostly flat area. Opinions are much appreciated.

Fully loaded the tongue weight could be up to 740lbs or a bit more. That is getting pretty heavy. Have you checked your payload on your particular truck (on the sticker?) That will tell you how close to max you will be. You are going to feel that trailer but it appears doable. How you pack the trailer will also impact tongue weight. Get your actual payload however and post what it is here.

Payload sticker is 1185lbs. I do not plan on carrying water in the tanks for now. Would be loading very light at first just to see how it handles. Not a lot of payload I know.

That is pretty tight by the time you add the WDH and a passenger or two- at GVWR anyway. Pack light the first trip and weight it so you know where you really are. Having the WDH set up correctly will be key as well. The truck should sit fairly level...not squatting, do distribute the load. Certainly doable, you just need to be mindful of packing up and where those items are in the trailer.

Well going a different direction and purchasing an Imagine 22RBE. Dry weight 5059/hitch 465/GVWR 6995. This is a 22 footer total 25.11 ball to hitch. I don’t want to break my truck and gives me peace of mind I won’t be totally wiping out my payload. Didn’t plan on buying a camper when I bought this trucK.

Good choice. White-knuckling it starting and ending a trip isn't fun.
