OK. Apologize upfront. I know quite a few people have probably posted about this topic a ton of times. But here goes.

I am looking to upgrade my suspension. Initially I was convinced I needed either Fox or King reservoir 2.5 for front and 2.0 in the back. Have several friends with this set up and they rave about it. After watching a great video by Shock Surplus
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKXj0jBenIk
They did a great job comparing a lot of different shocks.
I started to rethink what I needed. They had great things to say about the Bilsteins 6112 upfront with 5160 reservoirs in the back. I spend most of my time off road in the desert on fire roads but wouldnt mind doing more technical stuff. For those of you out their that have the Bilsteins, why did you go with them over Fox or King, obviously excluding the Bilsteins are much cheaper.

Went with the King setup because I wanted reservoirs on the front coil overs, mine have the adjusters which is a nice option too, softer on the road, more firm in the dirt.7C9F9582-1D87-4C33-A75A-8F15DA0A2CE9.jpg

This is similar to a few of my friends setup.
Did you get adjusters for the rear as well, or just reservoir. Curious if you wouldnt mind sharing what it cost you all in including installation. Great looking truck by the way

I got adjusters in the rear also. Front coil overs were about $1900, rear we’re about $1200, went with a 305/70r18 KO2, had to have a BMC. Went with the +1 coach builder shackle in the rear, so maybe a little over 2.5” in front height and just over .5” in the rear, still have very slight rake. Install was about $1200 but that was with BMC and I had a new Carven catback exhaust installed

Thanks. Talking to someone tomorrow about the Bilsteins to see if it makes sense to go cheaper route. I keep going back and forth

I have the 6112/5160s on my 1st Gen & really like them.

Bilsteins are good for the price. They are great for on and off road use.

I had 6112 and 5160. One of the 6112 leaked in less than 6 months. All of it rusted after 1 winter. Decent for the price, but I wasn’t impressed. I just replaced it all with icon and it’s a huge difference. If you off road, look to spend a little more and get something better - icon, Fox, king.

They just came out with 8112 but I haven’t looked in to them yet. Not even sure if they make them for tundras.

I just joined this forum recently, but I found your post based on the fact that I am looking to upgrade my shocks as well.

The shop here has the (8100 stainless with res) Bilstein's in stock or they will install the others if I purchase and bring them in. So, I'm kind of wondering what you ended up doing and how you feel about that choice.
