Hey guys, sorry for noob question here, but this is my first 4x4 and I am new to all of this... I recently bought a 2016 Tundra SR5 Crewmax 4x4 and am in the process of doing a lot of modifications and could really use some help on the topic of ARB Air Lockers and the Rago Fabrications "Wifey" kit. I recently purchased the Switch Pros RCR-Force 12 to control lights and other accessories, so I really have 2 questions here....

    1. Do I need to buy 2 ARB Air Lockers for the front & the rear? And should I buy the ARB differential covers for them?

    2. If I install the "Wifey" kit, will I be able to control the air lockers and airing up with the "wifey" kit from 2 independent switches on the Switch Pros?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you =]

I wouldn't put a locker in the front end, I did put one in the rear. I wouldn't buy diff covers either, nothing wrong with the OEM covers. Yes, it needs to be 2 switches, one for compressor and a separate one for locker. Also, before the wifey kit was offered I made my own and air up and deflate all 4 at once. Cost me just over $100 to create my own system with 5 outlets.

Oh, nice. Ok, thanks for the advice! Can you tell me why I wouldn't want a locker on the front?

I've heard our front diffs might not be up to the punishment. I've got no evidence other than 1 guy I know with a 1st gen who kept breaking stuff. So, it's mostly hearsay but worth investigating. No one I wheel with has a front locker and only a couple guys have rear lockers. When considering a locker it's wise to consider what tire size you think you'll end up with and whether or not gears are a good idea. I re-geared so I figured might as well throw a locker in there at the same time. I rarely use it but I'm glad I have it.

Cool man. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. I'll look into it some more. I'm doing a 7" BDS lift with BDS UCA and Fox 2.5 Coil-Overs and 17" Methods with 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I was putting off the regear for now, so maybe I'll do that same time as the lockers too.

Yet again, just my opinion, but with 37s you will really benefit from 5.29s. I love mine.

Hey man I was looking at regear options and came across these, but they are 4.88 and you mentioned 5.29's? The listing says 07-2014 but the guy on the phone said they should work for my 2016. I def don't want to order these and have to return them while my truck sits on a lift in pieces! I'm also confused about whether or not my truck has 9" or 10.5" rear differential. Do you know how I can check that? Trying to order gears and lockers asap! =]

The 1st gen aftermarket CV axles are too thin and tend to break pretty easily. So if he had those I wouldn't be surprised he kept breaking them.

OP, what kind of offroading are you planning to do?
