Just adding to the topic.. you want to shut off the audio, visual or both?

I do find the chime annoying... get home from work have to stop and get the mail. 3 block drive 15mph sorry I’m that lazy!

The software is an easy fix I highly recommended it.

My buddy has a cord he bought for $30 that he plugs in under the dash and sets all that crap the way you want it. All that he can anyway. I turn them off for driving at the deer lease.

I bought the cord that comes with the software (tech stream). You have to follow the instructions and it works fine on windows 10. It was 35 bucks on Amazon but no longer listed.

I also have Carista and I believe you can disable it either in the free function or trial period. I like carista because it’s super easy with your phone. What I don’t like about it is it’s a subscription based system. You can sub up do what you want and cancel.

I bought it for my wife’s 2016 Lexus, I was sure I had also used on the truck. I do know the tech stream did not have my year for the truck, but still worked.

I will verify carista for you and report back later today.

First ever seatbelt disable thread where there wasn’t that one clown who came to say “just wear your seatbelt all the time it’s there to save you”.

    congrats on this success.

I wish you good fortune on your journey to disable the annoying chime.

One option I haven’t seen mentioned in this particular thread is the dummy seatbelt. It’s basically just a clip that pops in and tricks the truck into thinking your seatbelt is plugged in. Keep mine in the cup holder for when I go up to the hunting camp.

get the seat belt extender from the dealer, they're free due to "safety". They're available in 8", 10", and 12" lengths if I remember correctly. Tell them it's needed for a car seat, or very fat uncle.

My dealer did charge me a $4.95 shipping fee, but it's a cleaner look than the "cut credit card" option. I think I got the 12", but it really doesn't matter.

The dealer will require a VIN.

I just asked my dealer to turn off the seat belt dinger on both front seats for me and they went into the programming to turn it off.

I just tried it. Doesn't work. Turns on warnings about SRS system not working properly. There must be something more complicated in that buckle than just a simple switch. And I couldn't take it apart, not for lack of trying :)

I came to say this. Mine doesn't chime anymore because I had them turn it off at the dealership the day I bought my truck. From what I was told they can turn it off on trucks because they can be considered farm equipment or something like that.
