Took the Tundra on its longest trip so far - about 1090 round trip in a weekend to Winchester Bay, Oregon from Reno, NV.

Did a little bit of everything from testing out the new RTT Set up to recovering my friends 4runner a few time with Maxtrax and once with a tug.
Rode some quads in the dunes and saw some amazing sights.

Camped in the RTT in the dunes in some foggy and rainy conditions and it did great.
I reserved this spot at Umpqua Sand Camping - and once the ATVs stopped running, you could hear the ocean like you were on the beach.

    Overall a fun trip!

Nice! I am down in Winchester Bay fishing every week. I have a summer fish camp set up there until the end of Sept so I can cruise over from the Eugene area as often as the Ocean permits. It’s a cute little town.

What a beautiful area. That’s an awesome set up! Can you enlighten me on the cooler set up?

I had my Yeti Cooler on there with the optional Yeti tie down straps that I drilled into my cover.

But now I have my CVT RTT on there :p

Nice trip. Windy bay is a blast! We usually stay in the condos with dune access. Those are awesome! Miss banshee hill. No more quads...for now so no idea when I’ll go back down.

Wow - I am a huge fan of the tent on the Diamond back cover.
How is the functionality of the cover with the tent too?

There’s no way to open the cover with the tent on, of course. But the Diamondback has been a great investment. I’ve considered getting a bed slide to make it a bit easier to access everything in the bed when the tent is on.

Winchester Bay/Reedsport is nice. I lived in Drain from 1965 to 1978. Spent a lot of time at W Bay. The dunes were completely open to 4X4's and dune rails back then. Did a lot crabbing off the piers. My school buddy's dad was Justice of the Peace in Drain and had a commercial salmon boat based there that he used in the summer. Got seasick a lot going out with them in crappy ass weather. They had a mobile home near the docks. Fished a lot at lake Marie. I miss it. Older brother is still in Drain. I need to get out that way eventually. GO DUCKS!!!!
