I need some advice. I used CG Jet Seal on my MGM and it left residue swipes on the truck (best way i know to describe it). Like you cannot get it all buffed off. I do not like the product ive decided. Is Dawn enough to get it off my truck or is there a way to get it looking good without removing. I had never used it before and just did exactly what the CG video said to do so maybe you have tips to save me getting it off.

you could try some propyl alcohol.

i've never had a problem with jetseal. try giving it a bit more time and then give it a go at buffing it off.

Has it improved on it’s own yet? I haven’t used Jet Seal, but some of these products will have streaks that go away after a day or two.

If not, you can try an IPA like @Danimal86 suggested. Another option is a paint decontamination with IronX and a clay mitt. This should remove just about anything, and it’s something that really needs to be done regardless. A paint decon will really improve the look of your paint, along with helping any sealant or coating bond better.

^^^^^this......as a side note, I've used JetSeal, McKees HiDef sealant, Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, and now the new Wolfgang SIO2 Sealant. Out of all of them, WG SIO2 is the one I like the best. Easy on, easy off, slick finish, some decent self-cleaning abilities...not coating level, but very good.

X3 ^^^^^^ make sure you are not trying these sealants on a hot surface or in the sun some products are more of an issue then others but it’s a good rule of thumb.

I appreciate all the responses. I got the product figured out now and personally will not be using again. Hopefully it has good durability but I will go to something else next year.

Nice. Don’t wait a year it will fail much before that. You want something easy pickup a bottle of griots 3-1 ceramic spray. But follow war machines advice about decon and clay.

I covered it with CG Hydroslick and maintain with V07. Im hard on my trucks and wanted to try the Jet seal as my sealant for a change from WG.

@00Tyler10 I've applied V07 a few times and liked it. I just applied Hydroslick last night for the first time and REALLY like it. Is V07 a good product to use after applying hydroslick? Have you tried any other CG products? I'm trying to figure out if I should apply anything between Hydroslick and V07?

I'm not one to bash a product line, but if you look at other product lines, such as Griots Garage, Car Pro, P&S, Jescar, Wolfgang, Mckees, Shine Supply....and try comparable products, I'm betting you prefer them to Chemical Guys. I know people who are completely devoted to CG, and get good results, but their devotion prevents them from getting even better results. I still use Chemical Guys soaps, P40 carnuba quick detailer, and carpet/upholstery cleaner, so I'm not totally against CG....but, depending on the item, there are better choices out there.

Any recommendations on what to use after applying hydroslick?

I believe HydroSlick is designed to stand on it's own, but if you want to top it to prolong it, I'd be inclined to use something SIO2 based. I'm not sure if there's really anything to brand synergy, maybe CG has something in their line that would fit the bill. I just applied Wolfgang SIO2 sealant, and I top it with their SIO2 spray once a month.

    Maintain it with CG V07

CG make Clean Slate wash. Intended to remove all wax and sealant, with the intention of applying new sealant and then wax. Could try that. I haven’t had that issue with Jet Seal. I wash outside then dry in the garage, apply, and buff off the next day then wax. Has worked well for me so far. It does need to cure for 12-24 hours after application before bidding off.

Do not waste your money on Clean Slate, or Adams Strip Wash....recently tried both (thankfully both were loaned by a friend).....neither worked. Even Purple Power Vehicle and Boat Wash needs two applications to be effective, unless the LSP in question is significantly degraded....which likely will not be that long with JetSeal.
