Looking to add firestone rear bags to help keep things level when towing a 26' travel trailer. Will tow 1-2 times per month from April-August and maybe a handful of times in between. Wondering if it will be worth the extra $$ to go onboard vs. a plug in portable. I do like the idea of some of the onboards with wireless as you can watch the rear as it airs up to see when you are level. I am sure there will be a learning curve/experimentation with ride quality and stance to dial in the optimal PSI anyways. There are plenty of threads on adding the firestone rear bags and daystar cradles but not much talk on what people are using to air up/down.

I didn't go with an onboard with mine...didn't see the need. I use my shop compressor at home and have a portable for on the road, both work great. I have heard others say they just use a bicycle pump and that works too. You could just install them without the onboard compressor and see if you like it, you can always add the compressor later if you see the need.

@2020Platinum just installed a wireless compressor setup and has a fantastic YouTube video on it.

Thanks for the shout out!...here’s the link to the Airlift WirelessOne system I just installed to go with my Firestone bags, absolutely love it...super convenient, wouldn’t think twice about adding same setup again!

Just towed my boat (with the truck bed loaded down as well) 4 hours up to NY on vacation, it was awesome to just hit a button and inflate my bags to make everything level...so easy to adjust with the remote control or app on my phone...hope my video above helps ya out, shoot me a message if you have any questions!

You are using a Load Distribution hitch right?

Yep load distribution with bags is the plan.

I just use a portable plug in. It's such a small diaphragm that it fills really quickly.

@SprinterAE86 where did you run the fill valves to? I want mine decently accessible, but hidden. Kit should be here this week.

    I used any preexisting holes.

Coming from Canada, I am still shocked and delighted to see the underside of a Florida truck. No rust, no undercoating... it's so pretty.

I know. That's why we only visit the maritime during summer.

Don't forget to also add daystar cradles.

I used the on-board system on my T100 often when I was hauling bottled water, it was awesome. I purchased a kit for my 2002 Tundra that has the on-board air pump plus an air line to fill tires etc., but never installed it. On my 2007, I use a bicycle pump to air up the bags.
