I completely rebuilt that trailer, used it for three years, and then the wife wanted a bigger one... SO... Someone bought themselves about three weeks of my life in repairs.

Yeah, we have looked at some of the smaller sized travel trailers similar to what @jeremyd has. I don't like the idea of having to haul a large trailer everywhere and my boys are getting to the point where they can sleep in a tent. I like the size and weight of the R Pod trailers and having a real bathroom on board would be nice.

Anything "RV" seemed thin and cheap. The commercial is harder to work with but it will literally last forever. My new trailer is a one piece aluminum roof. No more membranes for this guy. I did use the Dicor camper roof lap sealant on all the edges. Livin' Lite is the company that built my trailer, they were pretty big into the pop ups as well. The company was bought out by Thor and destroyed. If you are looking at them, be sure to only look at trailers built before 2015, as those were the good years.

I’ve been thinking of getting these. Feel more solid when walking inside the trailer?

Made a huge difference, no side to side movement, the kit came with 6 arms, I only put 2 on.

Back in post 28 I posted some pics of the start of the roof repair on my pop up trailer. Well I finally finished it up. Ended up using Filon for the new roof, only now if it ever fails replacement will be much easier since there is a solid sub straight. Luckily there was no rot, the original Filon just failed from the previous owner leaving the trailer sitting in the dessert sun. Time to go camping!

We sold our trailer this spring :( to prepare to move.
Really liked this size and model. Pulled great and fit anywhere. Any reason to post a few more pics of it and the goat of course :)

Thanks, If you look at the trim rails in the pics you can see I actually screwed them down. Those trim pieces were originally just glued down with caulking. I didn't feel comfortable using the roof rack for bikes, etc. relying on caulking. Now those rails are solid. Amazes me how crappie they build these things.

Good call. I’ve rebuilt a couple trailers and can agree that they are of questionable quality. And I’ve looked under $100k units and they all have the same bs wiring connectors and all require sealant on the exteriors. I just don’t understand how we have rockets that fly into space, but we need to re-seal our $100k motor coaches every year :monocle:

Wasn't today but I polished the fiberglass to remove all the oxidation from our brutal NM sunshine a couple weeks ago.

I just did this to my travel trailer and couldn't be happier. I have no side to side movement like I used to. I may end up adding 2 stabilizer jacks just in front of my axles to take out the slight suspension bounce out of the middle of the trailer.
