So I am ready to do my timing belt on my 2006 tundra. Watched some great videos on you tube and read lots of the forums on the subject. I am hoping that some one with a factory manual can give me some info. My 2006 4.7 has variable valve timing and from my understanding before you remove the timing belt you need to turn the crankshaft to 50 degrees either before top dead center or 50 degrees after top dead center depending on the year, to unload the camshafts so they don’t spring load into the pistons and cause damage. I have read conflicting info from different manuals. I am hoping some one with a factory manual can give me the correct info for a 2006 4.7. Also if I am correct in understanding if that is the correct reason to rotate the crank off of TDC.
    Thanks for the help.
