So my first post in the Tundra world, I'm a long time Taco driver just needed something bigger and stronger... that out of the way... Hey everyone :)

So I just pick up a 2016 Tundra OR crewcab last week. Since I bought it the turn signal bulb went out. I changed it out yesterday and I swear it was working for a few hours, I drove my son to daycare this morning and it's out again? Any ideas or quick things I can check to see what's going on?

I would say either a short somewhere or just a bad connection.
Short will be difficult to find, so I would troubleshoot bad connection first. See if the terminals where the light bulb hook in are clean, and if the back side where the wires come in are secure. I have had a lose wire on a previous vehicle before that would do that - sometimes the light would work and going through a few potholes or something the wire just moved enough to not make contact anymore.
Also check to make sure that there is not moisture in the housing that can cause corrosion on the contact points.

Also check for any aftermarket wiring. Maybe someone tapped into the wires for some extra lights or maybe they installed LEDs at one point and took them out. Check the harness from underneath the truck.

Check to make sure that the new bulb is clicked fully into the socket. One of my front signal/DRLs went out a few months back. I changed it out and everything was fine--for a few hours. I checked and realized that I hadn't gotten the lamp fully seated. All's well now.

could be the wrong bulb or a faulty bulb. i've seen that happen lots where you think you have the right one then it burns out quickly.

Yeah so I had to rig it up for the time being, the problem is that's it's just a little loose. Looks like I'm going to Toyota soon.

So I just started having the same turning light problem on front drivers side on 2015 Toyota Tundra! The light replaced worked a few hours then stopped agin! It isn’t burned out but looks like it may be getting a little hot on the metal part. Tried some electrical connection protection jelly to make it contact, at auto parts store for $1.50 Reinstalled bulb and agin started working for like 1/2 hr. Then quit agin. Going to try a little bit more and see if it does the trick. Let me know if you find out what’s causing it!

I also have this issue with my tundra, upon some more research, I discovered that the inside of the socket itself melts, and causes the bulbs to short out. You can order the socket on Amazon for our trucks for less than $10 each.

Is this still a problem with the 2017 (SR5) models? I just had a front signal light go out and am going to replace the light and socket to be safe but if this is a design problem/flaw I'm going to check out LEDs for a longer term fix.

Update - just checked, both my sockets show darkening from overheating. I'm going to either go LED or disable the DRL.

The OEM socket part # is 90075-60060.

I replaced both sockets and bulbs and also disabled the DRL. So far no issues but both original sockets did show signs of overheating.

I've been having the same problem on my '14. THANK YOU for posting the part number! I'll probably switch over to the LED system also. I've been looking at headlight revolutions kit. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
